He took his time, and then, in an instant it seemed, let my cock drop from his mouth, the warm air sticking to the saliva he’d left behind. I opened my eyes to see why he’d abandoned such impressive work, but he was gone.
His pants, boxers, socks, and underwear were all that remained, and had I not heard movement behind me, I would have suspected he’d spontaneously combusted while giving me a BJ.
“The hell?” I spun around to see his bare ass cheeks bouncing around as he flung his shirt off over his head.
“Looks like I’m not a rotten egg, after all,” he called back to me.
“Motherfucker,” I muttered, racing after him.
He was already diving in by the time I reached the pond, but I went in headfirst after him. It was just the right temperature—not too cool, only enough to quiet my lingering annoyance at having been bested by a trickster.
We resurfaced around the same time. Water streamed from his flat bangs, webbing along smooth features that reminded me so much of his father in the photo we’d seen in the tasting room.
“Sneaky fuck,” I said as a broad grin stretched across his face.
“Hey, you were the one who wanted a head start, so I gave your head a start while taking one of my own. Besides, this is something an O’Ralley should have expected from a no-good Mitchell.”
“Guess it was worth it since I got a good view of these melons,” I said, swimming to him. When I reached him, I grabbed his ass and squeezed, thinking about how it had jiggled on his jog to the water.
“You sure do seem to enjoy a man’s ass for someone who wasn’t sure about his attraction to guys.”
“I’m confident I would have known more about my sexuality if I’d seen this ass sooner.”
A hint of pink filled his cheeks, and it was enough for me to say, “Ooh, I made you blush.”
“What? Pfft. Probably sunburn.”
“You always get a little sunburned when you find yourself smitten with me, Mr. Mitchell?”
The pink turned a little darker, assuring me I wasn’t wrong. “Shut the fuck up—”
Before he could go on, I stole a kiss. He reeled me right in, just like he had when he’d come to this town.
I gripped both his ass cheeks, nearly gasping at how good his firm muscles felt in my hands.
The water shifted around us as we continued struggling to keep our heads above water through kisses. A splash hit my face just as we had parted our lips for an instant, pushing the water into my mouth, so that I had to pull away and spit it out.
“Damn, Mitchell. You’re gonna drown us,” I teased as the water around us settled.
There was something almost magical about the moment.
Maybe it was the way the sunlight glistened in Cohen’s irises.
Or the way his wet hair naturally settled across his forehead in the sexiest of looks.
Or it could have been that perfect combination of cool water and a warm Georgia afternoon.
Whatever the reason, I didn’t care. Just breathed it in before Cohen moved quickly, splashing water my way. I had to laugh at the friskiness of his move, and quickly returned with my own splash-assault.
The littlest of moves turned into an all-out splash fight. And just like everything else that afternoon, it was damn near perfect.
Once we’d settled that neither of us could prove victor over the splashing, I decided to show him Walker’s and my favorite spot as kids, taking him to the other side of the watering hole. It was a bit of a climb up the boulder on the other side, and he made sure to give me a little city-boy hell about it, even though I could tell by the smile on his face that he was enjoying the adventure. When we reached the top, we headed along a familiar old path to where we’d jump into the water.
“When we were kids,” I told Cohen, “Walker and I used to prank each other. One time I was out here with this girl Meghan, and Walker stole my clothes, so I had to sneak back into the house naked. Well, Big Daddy caught me, and needless to say, he was startled, but very proud of his show stud, as he called me after that.”
Cohen busted into a laugh. “Oh, I bet he was.”
“I got Walker back, though. He’s scared to death of rattlesnakes, so I bought this fake snake at the Dollar General. Looked fake as hell, but put it on the top of this rock, and when he was trying to impress his own girl, oh, she certainly got to hear him sing soprano.”
“It sounds like you guys had a lot of fun.”
“It was a great time being a kid out here.”
I led him to the drop-off on the other side of the boulder, noticing a familiar sight that had escaped my memory until that moment.
