The fluttering anxiety building in my gut as I wait for his reply has me ready to bolt back upstairs. Dean hooks a finger under my chin, forcing me to look him in the eyes where I'm certain, now more than ever, that he feels the way I do.

"I find you irresistible, Cody." His words don't do much to ease my anxiety, but the kiss he levels on me is enough to make my knees buckle.

Dean wraps his arm around my waist to steady me, his tongue moving around mine. I open my mouth more, losing myself in the kiss that makes me want to go upstairs for a completely different reason.

His scent engulfs me. It's familiar and inviting, and I loop my arms around his neck. The kiss deepens until I feel the bulge of his crotch pushing against me. A moan escapes my throat as his free hand moves to slip inside my shorts.

There's no other fabric in his way. Dean maneuvers his fingers between my folds, sliding one up and down my slit before pushing it inside of me. I gasp, breaking our kiss to see the naked desire flare in his eyes.

"Do you know how long I've been waiting for this moment?" he growls against my ear, sending chills down my spine.

"Probably as long as I have." Each syllable comes in a panting breath as he builds me up to an orgasm that I can't wait to release. The rhythm of his fingers moving in and out of me makes me want to return the favor.

There's no hesitation from him as I drop one arm between us to dip my hand inside his waistband. He's not wearing any boxers, and I grip his growing erection. A shuddering breath mingles with a low groan once I slide my hand up and down his thickness.

Dean's cock in my hand is heavy and smooth to the touch. We bring each other to pleasure only to have to stop abruptly when we hear the sound of the front door's lock turning.

"Shit," he huffs out, snatching his hand away from me and me pulling away from him.

Heat floods my cheeks when Joe Dawson walks into his home with a loud grunt and thumps. My pulse is pounding. Dean slips his fingers that were just inside of me inside his mouth with a grin.

He swats my ass and moves away from me, grabbing a beer out of the fridge and sorting the pizza boxes on the counter just as his father walks into the kitchen.

Joe's eyes light up when he sees me. He approaches and gives me a tight hug, saying, "It's good to have ya home, bug. I know I already told ya, but just because your mom and I aren't seeing eye to eye, that don't mean you can't stay. You stay here long as you need."

"Thanks, Joe." I smile and smooth a piece of hair behind my ear. "I thought you were working a double."

Joe moves toward Dean, fake boxing and jabbing with him as he takes the beer from him and grabs a slice of pizza. They're the spitting image of father and son, both care about me, but one is far different than the other. After a bite and gulp, Joe talks holding the slice in his hand. "I was, but when I told the fellas you just came home, they offered to let me come home for my break just to see that you settled in."

"Dad, I was taking care of her just fine," Dean says.

Joe raises an eyebrow, his gaze dancing between us. "I know, but bug here's the only daughter I got. What kind of father would I be if I ain't make sure she was okay?"

"I'm good, Joe. Swear it," I tell him.

"I'm just gonna grab a few more slices and get out of your hair. It's good to see you, bug. Oh and before I head back to work, Dean, why don't you give her resume a look? Maybe you can help her land something at Flannigan's. Temporary, of course."

Dean's grin is telling.

"Dad," Dean chimes in. "I promise that Cody is fine and if she wants my help, she knows I'll do whatever she needs."

"Alright, alright. Just my two cents. You guys enjoy the night and make sure the kitchen is cleaned up before lights out."

Joe leaves us, and just like that, neither of us is in the mood to pick up where we left off. It's good for us to take the time.

"We need to think this through, Dean," I tell him, getting myself a few slices and another beer. "I don't want to start something—"

"And not finish it? You're right because once we get started, I promise you, Cody, I'm never letting go."

I can feel my body heating up again, begging for his touch. Instead of giving in, I force myself to sit at the table to eat. Dean takes the seat across from me, and we finish our food in mostly silence.
