“Why the flower, angel?”
“Its a yellow daffodil and symbolises new beginnings. We obviously couldn’t post our own faces as our picture so we decided on daffodils. That way we’d know it was definitely us before we accepted each other as friends on here.”
“And why Adelphie Jones?” Digger asked.
“Adelphie means sister in Greek and Jones, because well, its a common name.”
“Fucking clever, beauty and brains.” Bones teased.
He watched as she typed in the name Candace Nevin into the search bar.
“Go on then,” Bones nudged Bianca prompting her to explain the new name.
“Candace means mother, it’s from the bible and Nevin means nephew in German.”
“Who knew our woman was a bit of a sleuth.” Digger rumbled, his humour easily heard.
Bianca suddenly gasped and burst into quiet sobs. He scrutinised the screen and saw about five names down the list was one with two yellow daffodils as the picture. She clicked ‘send friend request’ and collapsed into all of their arms.
“They’re safe, they’re really safe. Oh my god.”
King felt a tension he didn’t even realise he was feeling dissolve from his body. Her family was safe. She’d saved her family. What a fucking woman!

A week had passed since Bianca had found her sister and nephew again. She’d spent two days pacing and hardly sleeping until Maggie had finally accepted her request on Facebook. That meant that they’d spent two days following her around and not sleeping. Now they fell asleep with the sound of their old lady fucking chattering on the phone to her sister. He’d complain but he couldn’t get enough of her smiling face and loud, joyous laughing. He didn’t know what was so fucking funny and he didn’t care.
Dane’s murder was reported in the paper yesterday. They’d managed to convince Bianca to leave off telling Maggie until they went to see her, there was no urgent need for her to know, it wasn’t like anything was going to change between now and when they saw her. At least if Bianca tells her face to face, she’s there to help her sister, whatever her reaction may be.
So far, the cops had discovered that he was a corrupt motherfucker and were still investigating and compiling lists of any known associates. They’d also unearthed evidence of his shifty dealings outside of his business. They’d definitely be searching for Maggie and Brandon too.
Today they were heading out to meet her sister and nephew for the first time. He wasn’t nervous, yet he’d be lying if he didn’t feel a bit apprehensive. He’d never gave a shit about having anyone’s approval before, but he wanted Maggie to like them for Bianca’s sake. He knew life would run a lot smoother if there wasn’t a conflict between the two sisters over them.
They planned to stay with Maggie and Brandon for a couple of days and then they needed to get back to go on a run for the club. He really hoped Bianca wouldn’t ask to stay longer without them. That definitely wasn’t happening and he’d hate to have to carry her out of there and strap her to his bike if she refused to leave when they told her no. They weren’t coming back without her, whether she liked it or not.
They’d all made a pact to not leave her there so that none of them could crumble under her tears or pleadings. He wasn’t trying to be forceful or insensitive, the pact came from a very basic fear that if Bianca stayed without them, that she’d find that she wanted to stay permanently. And they couldn’t live without her now.
He could sense a massive fucking argument in their future.
Chapter eighteen
Digger
Maggie and Brandon had settled into a small town called Chadron in Nebraska of all fucking places. He couldn’t imagine what kind of fucked up route Maggie must have been driving to end up there. It took them four days of riding to get there. They could have done it in three but Bianca wasn’t used to riding for long periods on the back of the bikes yet.
She could only manage about three hours before she needed a break. Her legs and back weren’t used to the position and being in it, unmoving for a long time. She joked that she’d be walking like a cowboy for the rest of her life. He’d found not been able to hold off a full belly laugh as she walked away from them like she was holding a basketball between her knees.
They were getting close and Digger was smiling as he watched Bones wrestle with his bike as Bianca fidgeted like crazy on the back in her excitement. He knew Bones was fighting pulling over and given her a lecture on staying fucking still but knew he wouldn’t. They all loved seeing her like this. She’d really come out of her shell in the past couple of weeks and they were loving her more and more for the fantastic, funny and confident woman she was. She was everything they could have wished for in an old lady and more. They had a surprise for her when this trip was over and he was inpatient for her to have it.
