Any anger I might have felt over his odd reaction to the movers—the ones he’d insisted on hiring, mind you—touching my undergarments melts away. His thoughtfulness makes his high-handedness a whole lot easier to swallow. “You bought me new clothes?”

“You can bet your sweet ass I did.” His dark eyes light up with so much excitement, he almost looks like a little boy on Christmas morning.

“Alrighty then.” I let myself enjoy this. I’m not going to overthink it. It’s nice to be taken care of.

“C’mon, let’s go make sure everything fits.” Wrapping his arm around my shoulders, he hurries me out of the bedroom. He doesn’t let go of me until we reach the entryway, and I stop dead in my tracks when I spot the pile of shopping bags set just inside the door. He keeps going and grabs about a dozen bags to carry them into the living room. I watch in awe as he comes back to get another load twice more until there are only a few bags left. Picking them up with one hand, he grabs my wrist with the other and tugs me along with him.

The stack of bags on the couch is insane. I’m blown away by Theo’s generosity. It’s been so long since I had anyone in my life who wanted to take care of me…well, except when it comes to condoms since he didn’t wear one any of the times we had sex. The timing should be off enough that I’m in the clear, but I can’t help freaking out a little at the idea of being pregnant. But I also can’t help but think about how freaking amazing he’d be with a tiny baby in his arms, and there is a small part of me that likes the idea of taking a piece of him with me when I go. I decide that it’s best for me not to obsess over it too much at the moment. There’s enough new stuff for me to handle, I don’t need to go borrowing trouble. I’ll just have to insist he wears a condom from now on.

With that decided, and still feeling a little overwhelmed, I whisper, "Thank you."

“I think we can do better than that when we express our gratitude to each other, my little muse.” My gaze drops to his crotch, and I feel an odd mixture of disappointment and curiosity. “As badly as I want to see your pretty lips wrapped around my cock, that’s not what I meant either.”

When I look back up at his face, the grin he flashes me is smug. I shrug my shoulders defensively. “What? It seemed like a typical guy thing to say.”

“Ah, but I’m not just any guy,” he reminds me.

Remembering everything we did last night, I blush as I agree. “True.”

Theo cups his palm around the back of my head and bends low to brush his lips against mine. “Thank you for saving your cherry for me and giving it to me last night.”

“You’re welcome.”

“Your turn,” he prods me, our mouths only an inch from each other.

I’m not sure what he’s hinting at, so I hazard a guess. “Thank you for giving me so many orgasms when you took my virginity?”

He chuckles softly, and I love the way the skin around his eyes crinkles. “That’s not what I thought you wanted to thank me for, but I’ll take it as long as it comes with a kiss.”

“Oh!” I finally get the point he’s trying to make and skim my lips over his. Then I smile up at him. “That’s my thanks for the clothes.” I gather all my courage and press my mouth against his hard. When my tongue touches his lips, he opens and it sweeps inside. He quickly takes control of the kiss, tilting his head to get better access to my mouth as our tongues tangle together. When he’s done, it takes me a moment to remember what I planned to say. “And that was for all the orgasms.”

“I’m a lucky man.” I shudder as he brushes his thumb over my bottom lip. “One who’ll be sure to remember you value climaxes over clothes.”

I have no idea how he can think he’s the lucky one when I know it’s me, but I swear I’m going to do everything I can to keep him thinking that way. “Judging by that pile, I don’t think I’m going to need to buy myself any more clothes for a few years.”

“Damn straight you won’t.” He pivots and picks up a pink and white striped bag. “Not when it’s my pleasure to take care of it for you.”

I wrap my arms around his shoulders and lift up to give him another quick kiss. “Thank you.”

He cocks his head to the side and asks, “What’s that one for?”
