“Please,” Rea’s raspy voice comes from somewhere deep in the black haze of my mind. “I want to feel you finish inside. Don’t worry about me. I’ve got us covered.”

It’s a not so subtle reminder that I didn’t even ask about wrapping up, which is crazy because I’ve never made that mistake before. But this is Rea, and I know if she were concerned, she would have told me. I completely lost my head and didn’t even think.

I crack an eye, and she slows down. “Are you okay?” she asks softly, staring down at me.

“Yeah, sorry. I just…I was thinking, and I wasn’t very responsible.”

“It’s okay. I wanted to feel you with no barriers. I know if you had something to tell me, you would have.” She echoes my thoughts so exactly, but it’s not surprising. We spent a lot of years together before…before we didn’t. “If I weren’t okay on my end, I would have made sure we were smart about this. I do have an IUD in, though, so I’m alright.”

“Are you sure? This makes me look like a total jerk.”

“No, it doesn’t,” she mutters as she grazes her lips over mine. “Believe me. It doesn’t. We both got a little bit carried away, but I guess that’s what eight years will do for you.”

“It was always pretty much like this when we were together.”

She grins at me. “You’re right.” She swivels her hips to echo that sentiment before adding, “It was. But should we continue?”

“I’m not going to say no to that.”

“Good. I was hoping you’d turn me over and lose control completely.”

I let out a feral groan right before I comply with that wish of hers. Gripping her waist, I spin her around. She lands below me and hooks her heels around my back, making my whole body feel like I just plunged it straight into the center of a very angry volcano. That was kind of what it felt like to wear a taco suit in the heat of summer in Texas, so I guess I should be used to it, but I don’t think I’ll ever get used to how good it feels to be inside Rea.

She sways below me, urging me forward, and I claim her mouth as I thrust inside her. Deep, long thrusts, dragging it out and pushing back in. She squirms below me, shifting and taking me so deep that it’s only a few more seconds before I lose control completely. I thrust wildly, burying myself inside her. She clings tightly to me while I vibrate above her. The headboard knocks against the wall again, but this time, it’s just gentle little taps. Our skin fuses into one sticky membrane with our lips still on each other’s as our breaths mingle together.

“That was really hot,” Rea whispers after a few minutes of blissful aftershocks have passed.

“Agreed.”

“Next time, can we do it with the taco costume on? I think you were right. Maybe it would take things up a notch.”

“I’ll show you how to take things up a notch,” I respond playfully. I make good on my threats to eliminate her bra, but I’m nicer than I promised I’d be. I just deftly put my hand behind her back, undo the clasp, and rid her of it.

“So, you’ll get it then?” she asks deviously.

I kiss her deeply. “If you want me to. I’d do anything for you. You know that, don’t you?”

She sighs sweetly. “I think I do now. Maybe we can leave it, just for today. But tomorrow…”

“Tomorrow we christen the new truck?” I chime in with a grin.

“Hmm, unsanitary, but I like the sentiment behind the idea. I’ve never done it with you in a taco truck before.”

“Don’t people say there’s a first time for everything?”

“I guess they do.” I kiss her, taking my time lingering on the most perfect mouth in the world. “But I much prefer second times. And second chances.”

With a smile, Rea strokes her hand over my damp hair. She wriggles below me again, and I start throbbing inside her like there wasn’t just a first round. “This isn’t a second chance,” she says seriously, but then she smiles again. “This is just us. You, me, and coming back to what we were always supposed to be.”

I kiss her neck, nuzzling my nose below her earlobe, right at her hairline. “I agree. This is exactly right where I was always supposed to be.”

She rolls her eyes at me. “Leave it to you to ruin a perfectly romantic moment.”

“Did I?”

“No,” she snorts. “You are the moment. You are my first love, my second chance, my right where I’m supposed to be. Always. You’re all of that. And whatever else we can think of.”

Well, I’m not going to argue with that. As usual, Rea said it exactly and perfectly right.
