The correlation of what Donnelly is doing with his family is obvious, so neither of us mention it.

“Did he go through with it?” he asks.

“You want me to spoil it for you?”

“Hit me with the spoilers, space babe.”

“He does infiltrate the Krath. He pretends to be a fallen Jedi.” I frown and stare at the ticking watch on my wrist. “You won’t ever disappointment me,” I say again. “I think it was brave what Ulic did.”

Donnelly sinks back against his seat. “He succumbed to the dark side, didn’t he?”

He did.

I look over at him, my heart hurting. “You’re not Ulic. That’s his story, and this…this isn’t just my story, like you said. I hope it can be our story.”

He comes forward, and his hand encases the edge of my jaw, the softness of my neck. “It is our story, Luna,” he breathes.

I fall into his gaze, his touch, my lungs alight. “In the Star Wars mythos, you’d be a Jedi Knight, but in our universe, you’re something else.”

“What am I?” His lips are so close to mine. “Some noble hero of another galaxy? An alien warrior? Or well-traveled bounty hunter?”

“You’re human,” I whisper. “You’re my human hero. And there is no one stronger than you.”

We’re breathing one another in, and the distance is so painful. I just want him to—and then he does, holy…shit.

He kisses me.

I crash against the passionate wave of his kiss, riding into the storm as our tongues meld, as his hand clasps my cheek tighter and rounds to the back of my head, lost in my hair. Ohhh wow. I bask in every millisecond of his possessive touch.

My body throbs, the yearning pieces finally being satiated again. I cling to his bicep, a second from climbing on top of him and bouncing on his lap. I want him so, so badly, I can’t think straight, but Donnelly pushes me back against my seat, not to end the embrace.

He careens over, still kissing me like he’s removing all the hurt, all the pain. Like each kiss is made to cure me, and I melt against the power of his passion and the heat of his skin.

“Donnelly,” I moan.

“Fuck.” His groan is deeply masculine and sexy. Among our endless, emotion-fueled kisses, his other hand voyages up my shirt. Yesyesyes. His thumb flicks my nipple, and I squirm and writhe in the seat.

Yes, fuuuck.

I feel for his zipper. He’s rock hard against his jeans. I keep imagining the sensation I first felt when he was inside me. Again. I want it again.

Now.

Nothing else matters except being closer than close. Melded and welded and fastened like two bodies and souls becoming one.

Right as he sits up like he’s about to crawl over to the passenger side, to me, his lips suddenly break completely off mine.

“Wait, wait, fuck.” He rakes a hand through his hair and falls back into the driver’s seat, both of us winded, panting.

I blink a lot and wake up. “Sorry, I—”

“I kissed you first,” he says and grips the steering wheel. The SUV is still parked and shut off. He presses his forehead to his knuckles.

I bite the corner of my tingling lip, still feeling him on me.

“I don’t regret it,” Donnelly says, sitting straighter. “I don’t regret it, but…” He must be worried about my dad, how he’d perceive him for breaking another promise.

“It’ll be the last kiss.” I hate these words as soon as I release them.

Pain cinches his face and gaze.

“The last kiss until everything is safe,” I explain.

Donnelly skims my features, maybe knowing I’m about as excited to have a “last kiss” with him as I’d be to learn extraterrestrials like you don’t exist.

He runs another hand through his hair. “Our last kiss was fire.” He tries to grin, but really, he just sounds sad.

It’s the last time we talk about that particular kiss, but selfishly and secretly, I leave hoping there’ll be another.

THEORY: Okay, so I know we haven’t seen pics of Luna in about a week or so since the gas station photos/video. BUT what if she’s the real reason Loren hates Donnelly???

The article said Donnelly tattooed MULTIPLE of the Hale children. We know one is Maximoff. She has to be the other. Is there confirmation he inked her tats? Also, where is Luna? Do you think she’s hiding since that last outing where she was seen with Donnelly? Something definitely feels off.

@polaris_havoc_domination: Pretty sure she’s still embarrassed about her fics leaking and that’s why she hasn’t been seen. Feel bad for her. Some ppl have said really shitty things.

@connorcobaltseyebrows: There’s been no verbal confirmation from the families about Donnelly inking her tats, but we’ve already confirmed that the lyrics on her forearm is 100% Farrow’s handwriting. @Roses1stDaughter compared a pic of a note Farrow wrote Maximoff at Lucky’s Diner to Luna’s tattoo.
