"You should put a towel on that,” Clarabella urges, but I just sit, and it hurts my butt.

"I feel pressure," I tell the nurse who rushes into the room.

"What else do you feel?” she asks. “Please get into the bed."

"I feel like someone is trying to get out of my vagina," I tell her. “Like, literally crawl out of me like a Transformer."

"Oh, good God," Bennett says as he helps me get into the bed, but a pain rips through me, and all I can do is put my elbows on the bed as I rock from side to side.

"When did this all start?" she asks, and I look at my sisters.

"I don't know,” Shelby says. “We were sitting down. They had just come home from the doctor."

"Did she tear your membranes?" the nurse asks me, and I just stare at her. “Okay, let’s see what's going on," she says, and I open my legs.

"Is that blood?" Bennett asks as I try to look down there, but with my stomach, I can't see shit. He comes over to my side and holds my hand. “It's okay."

"What is it?" I look at Shelby, who has her hands on her cheeks. “Is it bad?"

"Could be the mucus plug," the nurse explains.

"I'm never, ever having a child,” Clarabella declares as she puts a hand to her mouth. “I can't do it."

The nurse cuts off my panties, and she gasps. “Oh, my, she's crowning," she says, and I have no idea what that means. She springs up and runs over to the monitor. "We have a crowning in room seven," the nurse says, looking at me. “We need a heated bed and a doctor STAT."

"What can we do to help?" Shelby asks, looking around.

"Go keep mom calm," the nurse says, motioning to me with her chin. "Whatever you do, don't push."

"Don't push?" I yell out. “I need drugs." I look at her. “It's in my birth plan. I'm not doing this without drugs."

"Oh, we are way past that," she announces, and she runs out of the room.

"I have a couple of Xanax," Clarabella says, going for her purse. "If you chew them, they might kick in, and you'll be asleep before you remember any of this."

"Okay, people." A man comes in clapping his hands, followed by four other people with a bed, and I don't even know what.

"Cover her," Shelby tells Bennett.

"He's the doctor," Bennett says. “He's going to see a lot more than that.”

"Okay, we need to get her undressed," the nurse says.

"Just cut it off,” Clarabella says, and I just stare at her. "Like, you are never going to wear this dress again. It's got bodily fluid on it and mucus and all that stuff."

I'm about to yell at her when a sharp pain comes. “Oh my God!” I yell when the burning fills my vagina. It's like a pot of hot water is being thrown up in my vagina. “It burns."

"What is that?" Clarabella asks, standing next to the doctor looking straight at my vagina. "Why is it red?" She looks at me. “Why is it so puffy?"

"Okay, so we are going to start to push the next time a contraction comes,” the doctor explains. “We are all going to count to ten." I feel the pain coming, the tightness starts right away, and I groan. “Okay, and push,” the doctor says, and I push as they count.

"Oh my God, the head is coming,” Clarabella says, leaning next to the doctor's head and all he can do is smile at her. “It's a girl," she informs him, and I don’t have any time to say anything while another one starts to come.

"Okay, I want you to push like you have to take a big poop," the nurse tells me. “And go."

"You can do this," Bennett soothes from beside me, kissing my forehead.

"I didn't think your vagina could get bigger,” Clarabella says. “I was wrong."

"Damn,” Shelby says when she looks down, and Bennett is about to go and look, and I squeeze his hand.

"Don't you dare," I warn between clenched teeth.

"Don't do it, bro,” Clarabella agrees. “You'll never look at it the same." She shakes her head and looks away.

"Push,” the doctor says, and I push with everything that I have. My eyes close as I hear them count.

"Oh my God, the whole head is out,” Clarabella says, and she puts her hand on her head. “It's like a human head is coming out of her."

"Don't push,” the doctor says, and I don't have to guess what he's doing because Clarabella tells me.

"He's literally turning the baby's head," she says between clenched teeth. “Is that safe?" She looks at the doctor, who just laughs at her.

"This is the most fun I've ever had,” the doctor says, laughing. "Okay, I think one more push, and we are going to have the shoulders out, and then it should be smooth sailing."
