She rolls her eyes now. “Oh, here we go.”

Hating to see how much it bothers her, I make sure to change the subject. “If it makes you feel better,” I say as I slice and dice, “they started a side bet about Presley.”

She claps her hands. “I want in on that one.” She raises her hand.

“It’s twenty-five to one that she makes it down the aisle the first time.” I look up at her as I add salt and pepper to the top of the salmon.

“Out of all of us, she’s the only one who is actually going to make it down the aisle the first time,” she says, taking another sip of her wine as I add the salmon in the pan.

“She’s not even dating anyone.” I chuckle.

“No, but she’s in love with Bennett, and he’s in love with her.” I stand here shocked at this news. “It’s supposed to be a secret, but anyone who spends ten minutes with them can see it.”

“No kidding,” I agree, shocked, and for the rest of the meal, neither of us talks about anything but her would-be wedding.

The two of us work side by side cleaning up. Every time she passes me, her hand goes from my back to my ass. Her touch was so soft. If I wasn’t looking at her, I wouldn’t believe it happened. Just like when I walked past her as she was drying the dishes, I stood behind her and pushed my cock into her ass. A touch for a touch is how the game was played until we couldn’t wait one more minute, and I bent her over the stairs and had my way with her. The two of us collapsed into bed not long after.

The sound of a ringing phone wakes me up. “Ugh, what time is it?” I ask, looking over to the right finding the side of the bed empty. I hear the phone again. Looking over at the door, I hear that it’s coming from downstairs. “Clarabella?” I say her name and then hear the sound of the shower at the same time as I hear the doorbell ring. “What in the world?” I look over at my own phone at the side table, seeing it’s just after seven o’clock.

I rub my hands over my face. The sound of her phone rings again, and I reach for my jeans. I’m pulling them over my hips when the doorbell rings again. “Holy shit,” I curse, buttoning my jeans as I walk downstairs. The bell rings again, and so does her phone. “Oh my God,” I say, unlocking the front door and swinging it open.

“What the hell?” Edward says, standing there wearing jeans and a shirt. “Who the fuck are you?”

“Me?” I say, shocked. “What the fuck are you doing here?”

“My fiancée lives here,” he replies, and I just laugh at him. My whole body fills with anger seeing him standing there at her front door. “Clarabella!” he shouts her name over my shoulder because there is no way I’m letting him in the door.

“I think it’s a good idea if you get the fuck out of here,” I growl through clenched teeth. “Before.”

“Before what, you imbecile?” He takes a step closer to me.

“Oh my God.” I hear Clarabella from behind me. “What the hell are you doing here?” She pushes me out of the way, standing in front of me. Her hair is wrapped in a towel as she holds the robe she is wearing closed.

“What the fuck am I doing here?” Edward hisses at her, his face getting red. “What the fuck am I doing here?” He points at his chest. “What the fuck is he doing here?”

“That is none of your business,” she says to him.

He throws his head back and laughs. “You are doing this to get back at me because of Louise.” He shakes his head.

“Yeah, because the only way I would sleep with him is because you were sleeping with Louise.” She snorts. “Idiot. You need to leave.”

“I’m not leaving until you talk to me,” he responds, and she just nods her head.

“Fine by me.” She grabs the door. “But if you don’t get off my step in one minute, I’m calling the police and telling them that there is an intruder trying to break in.”

She takes another step into the house and slams the door shut in his face. “Clarabella.” He pounds on the door.

“Fifty seconds, Edward, and trust me, it would give me great pleasure to see you carted away in handcuffs.” She turns to look into the peephole. “Forty-five seconds!” she shouts. “Lying sack of shit,” she mumbles. “Thirty seconds!” she shouts yet again. “I can’t wait to see your mug shot.” She pushes away from the door.

“Is he gone?” I ask, and she just looks at me.
