With those thoughts planted firmly in my head I decided to put my worries away and concentrate on enjoying the evening and one of the burgers I only allow myself at this time of the month.

Speaking of which, my, ovaries seem more swollen than usual. The discomfort this month wasn’t so much the horrendous cramps that make me mental, but more like they were expanding and closing like a sucking mouth looking for something to devour.

Lucien

My eyes came open just as the sun lost its power in the sky. I laid there for a few seconds getting my bearings before the early morning’s events came flooding back and I sat up like my ass was on fire. “Shit!” I rubbed sleep from my eyes and planted my feet on the four hundred year old wooden floor next to my bed before stretching myself fully awake.

I walked from the bed naked, foregoing the silk robe Dennis had left on the bedside chair for me to wear upon awakening. Thousands of years serving me and his prudish ass still can’t get over the fact that I sleep in the raw and delight in walking around bare ass naked when I wake up.

I took my time in the shower and got dressed in my usual uniform of leathers and Henley with high lace up boots before I started heading downstairs. As soon as I reached the landing I felt the disturbance in the air and remembered something else that I’d tried valiantly to put out of my mind.

Just as I’d suspected would be the case my house, was now overrun by relatives. Cousins I hadn’t seen in about a thousand years or more were here to stick their noses in my shit. My parents were playing hide and go seek since this morning and no one was talking.

I hadn’t said shit to the elders when they came knocking at the edges of my mind this morning when I returned from spying on her. There was nothing to say really, the deed was done. If I don’t fuck her in six days I’m going to lose my shit and maybe take out a country or two, end of story.

There’s nothing they can possibly say to change that shit and there’s no point in going over and over who knew what when. I hate wasting my time, had learned at a very young age when my grandfather instead of letting me run wild with my peers made me sit for hours upon hours taking lessons from the oracles that when you can’t change shit you just go with it.

Every day of my life from the age of four until about eighteen I spent at least sixteen hours in a small room alone with my tutors or training in military arts. That fucking Sun Tzu is a sadist. Of all the philosophies I had to learn and follow, the art of war was the one to put its foot in my ass.

I wasn’t allowed to cry, wasn’t allowed to complain about the strenuous rigorous daily grind not even when I was five years old. I saw my father maybe once a week and my mother even less than that.

My grandfather had been my whole life. As the ruler of our people I was meant to learn from him, so I spent my formative years at his knee. I love the old man but I can see why people think we have no blood; heartless bastard.

When I passed the ultimate tests, both educational and physical at the age of eighteen that was my way out and I haven’t looked back since. I don’t have to see them or do shit except for that once a year test or if heaven forbid some jackass decides to act the fool and piss off good ole grandpa.

Then I have to go stomp a mud hole in someone’s ass and put things back to rights. Which usually only takes me appearing in dragon form, burning a few people or a whole army to cinders and bounce.

I wasn’t planning to say anything to the invaders in my house but they were waiting to ambush me. “Luke you’re awake…” The look I gave my elder cousin had him retreating quickly. “Sorry, Lucien, you’re up.” No one is allowed to call me Luke but my mother. The fuck is he thinking?

“What do you people want?” As if I didn’t know. Either my mother or the enclave of elders had sicced them on my ass to keep watch just in case some shit went wrong.

“You know the rules.” I headed for the door to go have a look at my woman.

Her fae ass can run the streets all day while I have to stay away from the human population, something I’m going to put an end to first thing. Contrary to popular belief the sun won’t burn us to a crisp, but just as with humans of a lighter shade of pale, our lack of melanin makes the shit uncomfortable as fuck.
