The budget is the last thing I’m thinking about as I brace myself against the wood. He enters me in one smooth stroke, and I sigh. When my man is pumping into me, everything feels right in my world.

His breath is hot against my ear as he reaches around to play with my clit. He’s murmuring sweet nothings under his breath as he touches me. I’m not sure what he’s saying because the words and the sensations all blur together until I’m coming on his cock, just the way he likes.

His release starts seconds after mine and he holds me through it, pressing soft kisses to my shoulder. When it’s over, we hold each other in his chair. He makes me feel so loved and precious. “I can’t wait until we have babies to spoil together.”

“Soon,” he growls in my ear, and I feel him starting to get hard all over again. If there’s one thing that turns my man on, it’s talking about getting pregnant.

I laugh. “At this rate, definitely soon.”

I smile at the thought. I’m looking forward to having a family with my mountain man. He’s given me everything, and I can’t wait to give him beautiful babies for us to cuddle together.

EPILOGUE

BRENNON

“Do you think he’ll be lonely?” My wife chews on her bottom lip as she gazes at our cabin. We’ve never left him alone for the past six months. Part of that is because my wife hovers over him.

I take her hand in mine and press a soft kiss to her knuckles, silently reassuring her that her dad is fine. He’s made a complete recovery from the pneumonia and is in better health than most men half his age.

All of the charges against him were dropped and he’s now free to spend his time tinkering. I built him a workshop on the edge of the property and that’s where he goes most days. I join him there in the afternoons.

In the mornings, I’m all Cadence’s. We spend that time making love on every available surface in the office and sometimes, we even get a little bit of work done.

She’s taken over running her father’s company and she’s doing an amazing job at it. She still asks me a lot of questions. She’s more than capable of doing everything on her own, and I’ve reassured her of that countless times. But she likes including me in the business decisions, so I weigh in when she asks. The rest of the time, I’m her silent partner, supporting her from the sidelines.

“You’re right.” She gives me a soft smile. “He’ll be fine. Of course, he’ll be fine. Your friends will be checking in on him, and I’m sure Nash will bring him some of his homemade cake.”

My friends continue to be her dad’s biggest supporters. In fact, he’s a regular fixture at all of our poker nights and BBQs. I think Roman may have even talked him into joining us on our next hike. I don’t mind having my father-in-law around. He’s a good guy. The kind of man that knows what it’s like to go through the fire and come out on the other side with deep scars.

I put my arm around my wife’s shoulders, pulling her to me. She scoots across the bench seat coming into my embrace willingly. I press soft kisses to her forehead, her eyelids, her cheeks. Anywhere I can put my lips, I want to.

She melts into the seat, relaxing under my lips. She always does. “Sorry. We don’t have to talk about him. This is our honeymoon.”

We’ve been married just over six months, and I finally convinced her to let me take her on a honeymoon. It’s not that she didn’t want to go on a honeymoon. She’s just been adjusting to her new role as CEO and nursing her father back to health. My woman is a rockstar, and it’s time I took a week to take care of her and remind her just how incredible she is.

She lets out a little sigh. “Mmm, you better start the truck soon or we’re going to start the honeymoon early.”

I chuckle. She’s been a horny thing lately. She’s always reaching for me, and I’m always reaching for her. But the past month, it’s been different. We can’t keep our hands off each other. We’re going at it two and three times a day. We must really be in the honeymoon stage.

Finally, I pull away from her long enough to start the truck. When I asked where she wanted to go, she told me she wanted to see Rainbow Falls. I offered the world, any extraordinary destination she could think of. Surfing in Kuta. Shopping in Paris. Skydiving in Costa Rica.

But my woman wanted to see the natural waterfall in our own backyard. I booked us the honeymoon suite at a local bed and breakfast. The place was described online as quaint and charming. I know it’ll delight Cadence to see it and walk the streets of the nearby town of Brevard. If we’re lucky, we might even get to see one of the white squirrels the area is known for.
