And when his smartass grin falters, I know I’ve won.

I only wish this was the whole war and not one tiny battle.

WILDE

The worst part is I’m closer to coming now than I was before Lili showed up. If it hadn’t been for her, I suspect I might never have gotten this close—this girl is enthusiastic enough, but she doesn’t have the first clue what she’s doing. Somebody needs to tell her faster and harder aren’t the only two techniques when it comes to giving head.

Besides… Now that I pry my eyes off Lili and look down at Hannah, I have to wonder why I started this to begin with. She’s not anywhere as striking as Lili. There’s not much appealing about her at all. All right, so it seems like she’s even more enthused over sucking me off than she was before we had company, like she gets off on having an audience, but there are plenty of kinky women in the world. I should know. I’ve had more than a few of them.

It’s Lili’s little dig about choking that makes Hannah pause, allowing me to fall from her lips with a wet plopping sound. “Jealous, much?” she asks with a snide little laugh. “Sorry, he’s with me.”

“For now,” Lili says on a sigh and shrugs. “But I guess you should have your fun while you can. I’m not trying to stop you.”

There’s something between these two, and now memories tickle the back of my mind. Hannah rises, sneering, and something in that sneer brings it all together. This is one of the wolves who was present when Lili killed that asshole the night of her first shift. She’s the one who had the wounded eye, with the blood running down her face.

I can feel her hatred for Lili boiling inside her, while Lili’s anger is intense enough that I can practically taste it in the air. I’d be lying to myself if I thought this was all about me. These two have a past that runs long and deep.

Unlike the heavy-breathing Hannah, Lili can control her reaction. And it’s driving Hannah insane, being unable to hurt the girl she used to torment. “Who do you think you’re fooling?” She laughs. “Everybody knows what happened. You want to be the one on your knees in front of him, but he chose me. You were sitting there alone, but he still chose to leave with me. I guess it shouldn’t be a surprise. You must be used to disappointment by now.”

One look at my brother tells me how amused he is by all of this. Sure, he can afford to be amused. He doesn’t give a shit about Lili, though he’s certainly standing a lot closer to her than I’d like to see. How dare he? That’s my woman. I marked her. I claimed her. He doesn’t get to have it both ways, that fucking bastard. And he’s going to find out very soon what a mistake he’s made by getting in the way of what belongs to me.

My feet are moving before I know it, without me intending to. “Back away,” I growl, seething. He has the audacity to look surprised. Either he’s a completely ignorant fool, or he simply doesn’t give a shit. As someone who has rarely given a shit myself, it’s possible I have no business holding it against him, but my wolf doesn’t see things that way.

He sees what is his, meaning he sees Lili, and it matters not that the wolf standing beside her is my brother. He’d tear anyone to pieces in this situation.

He looks uneasy, blurting out a disbelieving laugh. “Get real.”

“Back. Away.” It’s a growl from the very depths of my soul. This is my twin. I’ve spent my life with him by my side. We’ve shared nearly every part of ourselves, down to sharing women. He’s my right arm. Yet I want nothing more than to destroy him for thinking he can have a share in what is mine. Mine alone.

“Wait…” Hannah steps up beside me, touching my arm. “Let’s not get sidetracked. We’ve only just started to have fun.”

My head snaps around, and her eyes fly open wide at what I can only imagine is a snarl ripping from my throat. This piece of trash. She’s nothing but a diversion and not a very good one at that. I’d have more fun fucking a melon with a hole in it than I would fucking her bland, uninteresting face.

“Don’t touch me,” I warn, pulling my arm away. “You belong on your knees, but she will stand at my side and rule an entire pack as my fucking queen.”

“You think so?” Lili questions. With a glance at Hannah, I know she doesn’t want to say anything else aloud. In her head, she continues, “I don’t know who gives you your information, but they’re dead wrong. I’m not doing anything by your side, now or ever.”
