Marek nods, releasing my father’s hand.

My eyes burn as I glance at my mother, who I haven’t spoken to since the last conversation we had.

She presses her lips together, and I know it’s hard for her to be here, to admit she is wrong, and to accept that this is who I am now.

But also, there is the fact that she will be known as the mother of the dancer in one of the biggest shows, so it’s not all bad for her.

“I was wrong,” she tells me, her voice small. “You looked outstanding out there.”

That’s the best I’ll get, but I’ll take it.

I throw my arms around her, and she hugs me, tightly.

After a moment, she pulls away, and I offer a smile to Bonnie and Alexis, and both of them are beaming.

“I can’t believe you all came,” I say, smiling.

“Girl, we’d never miss it,” Bonnie grins.

My father steps forward, cupping my cheek. “They convinced us it was worth coming to, and they weren’t wrong. I’m proud of you, Ellie Mae.”

My heart swells.

“I’m going to get changed, then we’ll be out to see you all,” I whisper, fighting back happy tears.

Nodding, they all disappear, and I turn to Marek, who looks slightly shocked and a little confused that my parents were so...welcoming.

So am I, believe me.

Marek has changed a lot for me, and yet, at the same time, everything is the same. He still runs a dangerous operation, and I’m allowed nothing to do with that part of his life, which I’m fine with. I’m under his protection, and he always ensures I’m safe, but the rest of it is out of my hands and something I’m happy not to be a part of.

This side of him, though.

He’s opened the doors for me, changed the world for me, made me who I am.

He’s never going to be a loving, caring, gentle man, but he’s fiercely loyal, he fucks me every single day, and he protects me in a way I’ve never been protected. He might have started out as the monster, but now he’s the man who would kill anyone who comes near me. That’s enough for me. He sparks a fire in my soul that burns brighter, and higher, with every passing second.

I can’t get enough of him.

This life he is giving me, it’s thrilling and brings me to life.

It’s everything I ever wanted.

“Not sure I like the idea of being in the family,” Marek mutters, pushing me back against the RV wall.

“Oh, come on,” I smile, biting my lower lip. “You’re family now. Should we call Aleksander and tell him the good news?”

Marek grumbles under his breath.

Aleksander and Marek speak, but it’s not often. It’s an effort, but it’s better than nothing and I hope over time, he might just get some of the family back that he deserves. My plan is to pour so much love into Marek, that he has no option but to soften with time. At least, that’s what I’m hoping will happen.

He grunts. “Don’t push me, Ellie Mae. And as for your family, they have no idea the kind of man I am.”

“They don’t need to know,” I say, reaching down and gripping his cock, squeezing. “That’s our little secret.”

“If they’re anything like you,” he rasps, his jaw tight. “I won’t be able to get rid of them.”

“You love that you can’t get rid of me, just admit it.”

He leans down, biting my lower lip before kissing me long and deep.

“You’re mine now, little dancer.”

His words send shivers down my spine. “Oh, I know it.”

I know this life is a risk, and that I could end up in a situation where I’m hurt or worse, but life without him just isn’t worth it for me. I’ll take the risk. I’ll wake up every day, and urge him to do better, to bring out the good side in him. And when the good side is tired, I’ll cradle the beast, accepting it and nurturing it, until little by little, it learns to rest easy.

I’ll take all of him.

And I’ll fight for it.

Because, to the world he might be dreadful, but to me he is the world.

And I, his little dancer.
