Jimmy watched Royal go, then turned back to me.

“I have feeling in my dick.”

My brows rose at her brother’s blunt words.

“I just don’t have feeling in my hips and lower thighs, making it tough to, you know, leverage myself.” He paused. “Though, that’s a lie lately. When Marcus beat the shit out of me, he actually did me a solid.” Jimmy winced. “I shouldn’t be saying that, not with the trouble you and Royal are in now, but he really did. I’m starting to get some sensation in my knees and feet. Not a lot…but definitely enough that I can say that I’m not totally fucking broken.”

“Okay,” I said, unsure of what I should say to that.

“But I can feel my dick,” he continued. “I just, how good will I be to a woman if I can’t even thrust into her? I mean, it’ll always be her doing all the work.”

Now I saw his dilemma.

He could perform…but not fully.

He had his limits, and he was unsure if those limits would be enough for a female.

“You can’t sit on the sidelines for the rest of your life,” I found myself saying. “What’s the point?”

I wasn’t eloquent by any means, but the idea of never getting to have sex again for the rest of my life was downright depressing.

Of never feeling Royal’s tight, wet pussy wrapped around my cock…

“I know.” Jimmy sighed, interrupting my thoughts. “I’m just fucking lost. And now that I’m getting feeling back in my lower extremities, I’m torn. I want to hope. To think that I won’t always be like this, but then I look at her and…what is she doing?”

I looked up to find Royal standing at the counter, talking animatedly.

My lips twitched.

“Son of a bitch,” Jimmy said under his breath when the pretty girl looked our way.

“Yeah, you’re fucked,” I respond. “Prepare to go out on a date.”

Jimmy opened his mouth to reply, but then the blonde rounded the corner and started heading our way, Royal right at her heels.

“Was everything all right with your meals?” the blonde asked, looking worried.

Royal came to her seat and plopped her interfering ass into it before saying, “My brother was just telling us how awesome this place is, and how much he likes it.”

The woman’s eyes turned to her brother, and I curled my hand around Royal’s hair, giving it a gentle tug to get her to look my way.

Royal didn’t disappoint, and the mirth I saw swimming in those beautiful depths was highly arousing.

I loved her.

God, how I loved her.

“Oh, um.” Jimmy swallowed. “The food is exceptional…” He trailed off, waiting for her to input her name.

Oh, he was good at this.

“Tana.” She paused, frowned, and then said, “Well, my full name is Cortana. Cortana Rhodes. But you can call me Tana.”

Jimmy held out his hand. “Nice to meet you, Tana. My name is Jimmy. Jimmy St. James.” He gestured to his sister. “That’s my sister, Royal. And the man next to her is her man, Justice Rector.”

Tana turned distracted eyes our way as she said, “Nice to meet you both.”

Jimmy’s lips twitched. “Would…would you be willing to go out on a date with me?”

And when Jimmy took a leap, he took a big fucking leap. There was no halfway with Jimmy St. James, apparently.

All he needed was that slight push to get him up on the edge, but damn, once he was there. He wasn’t wasting time jumping into the deep end.

Royal had a bounce in her step as we left the diner, sans Jimmy, who’d taken a cab.

“I like that,” she said, looking at me with a wide grin on her face.

I wanted nothing more than to pull her into my arms and squeeze the shit out of her.

“You’re a meddler,” I joked.

She rolled her eyes and went to the motorcycle that was parked beside the building, her ass going to the seat and her hands going to the gas tank to hold herself up as she leaned slightly.

“I’m somebody that just wants my brother to be happy,” she corrected. “And Jimmy never would’ve made the first move. He thinks he’s broken.”

After talking to him, I had to agree with her sentiments.

Jimmy wouldn’t have done it on his own.

He didn’t think he was good enough.

Something in which I told her.

She sighed and dropped her head.

The defeated look on her face had me walking forward until I had her head in my hands.

When I was close enough, she tilted her head back so she could look straight up at me.

“Your brother’s a big boy,” I told her. “He’s more than capable of making his own decisions. But, just sayin’, I wouldn’t meddle in his life too much.” I touched my thumb to her nose. “Unless you want him to meddle in yours.”

She seemed to catch my drift pretty quick.
