The drive takes a little more than six and a half hours because I have to stop and pee every hour. “This looks so nice,” I say as we pull up to the house I rented. “Look, there’s a hammock.” I point at the side of the house where a hammock sways in the wind.

He stops the car as I look at the peach-colored cottage, seeing that there are five other cottages in the same row as the one I rented. Each house has a white picket fence around it. There are two big windows in the front, allowing you a view straight through the house. Even the white double door is glass. “This might not be private enough,” he observes, and I look over at him. “How am I supposed to fuck you in the kitchen when people can see straight in?”

“Oh my God,” I say, holding out my hand and opening the car door. Stepping out, I can hear the waves crashing against the shore.

“I’ll grab the bags,” he tells me, going to the trunk and grabbing our two bags in one hand and then grabbing my camera bag in his other hand.

I pull up the e-mail thread to get the code before opening the white picket fence. I walk in and wait for Romeo before taking the one step up onto the concrete patio that leads to the front door and also has a round table outside with four chairs. “This is so cute,” I say, smiling and walking to the door and putting in the code. I step into the cottage and stop in my tracks at how small and cozy it feels.

“Is the bed in the middle of the living room?” Romeo chuckles, and I look over at him.

“No.” I step into what is the living room with a big L-shaped beige couch with blue and white throw pillows. “It’s behind the living room.” I point at the king-sized bed that is right behind the couch. I walk in and see the long counter to one side of the kitchen. It has a sink and one-burner stove. The stainless-steel fridge is at the end of the counter. The vaulted ceiling and big windows make the house so bright. “Look at this.” I walk past the couch to the bedroom area, which has a table in front of the bed with two wicker chairs. A fireplace on the wall separates the bathroom.

“This reminds me of your apartment in LA,” he says, putting our bags on the couch before walking over to the door that leads to the bathroom. “Good-sized tub,” he says, winking at me, “we are going to have fun with that.” I roll my eyes, pretending I’m annoyed, but my stomach tightens, and my pussy is suddenly awakened. I walk over to the door in the back and open it to see it leads to a wooden walkway that heads straight to the beach. “Come on,” he urges, slipping his hand in mine. “Let’s go for a walk.”

We walk down the beach, the two of us, hand in hand. Not one person looks at us or does a double take, and that night when he slides into me, I have to say, it’s one of the best days we’ve had together.

The next day I kiss him goodbye as I head out to meet my couple. I take a couple of test shots, and by the time I look around, eight hours have passed. When I’m working, I get lost in it, all I can do is see the pictures in my head. We do shots in the forest and then shots on the beach, which ends with them getting into the water. I roll up my jeans as much as I can, getting into the water with them. When the sun looks like it’s setting behind them, I tell him to look at her and then tell her to close her eyes, looking at the other side. The way he looks at her with all the love is what I want to capture. I want her to look back and see that love.

They thank me for the day, and when I pull up to the rental cottage, I can see him on the couch lying down. I smile as I grab my bag and walk inside. “Honey, I’m home,” I call out, and I smell food. He smiles at me as he gets up. “Did you cook?”

“No.” He shakes his head. “There is only one burner.” He points over at the stove. “I ordered food, and it got here ten minutes ago.”

He walks over to me, grabbing my bag in his hand before bending his head and kissing my lips. “You smell like the ocean,” I tell him.

“Spent the day on the beach,” he replies, shocking me. “It was so nice. I saw you in action.”
