“Jesus.”

I’m enjoying the sight of Molly trying to lick away the juice from her chin when the ignorant fucker behind me speaks. My blood boils, a different demon waking from slumber than I worry about with Molly. My need for blood, death, and destruction slams against my chest. Molly must sense the change, because her eyes dart from me to Mac and back again.

“No,” she mouths, but even her request can’t be satisfied tonight. I’m strung too fucking tight. TJ wouldn’t even question the ease in my posture if he were here right now.

“We have a problem.” I jerk my eyes in Chains’s direction, ready to split my fury between two men when I realize he’s telling me there’s something wrong rather than questioning my intentions.

“Where’s Lynch?” I look over the SAA’s shoulder, but my president is nowhere to be found.

“Not here. He and Zoe went for a ride on the bike. That means I need you.”

I don’t open my mouth to speak until we’re clear of the clubhouse and striding quickly toward the garage.

“What the fuck is going on?”

The cool breeze surrounding us doesn’t help wash away the anger I felt inside of the club knowing Mac had his eyes on my girl. When Lynch caught Ronan eyeing his girl a few months ago, he should’ve killed him, not invited him into their bed and shared her. I’m not judging anyone’s kink, but there isn’t a soul on this earth I’d share Molly with. I can’t even fathom the idea.

“You remember the douche that was trying to get Molly in bed last month?” I’m too angry with the memory to respond. “We caught him—”

We both stop, standing perfectly still when Hornet emerges from the side door of the garage with a battered girl cradled to his chest.

“He beat the shit out of her.”

“Who is she?” I ask after Hornet passes. I don’t recognize the bruised and bleeding woman, but there’s something familiar about the blood coating her body and matting her blonde hair.

“No clue,” Chains answers.

My jaw clenches, the muscles working overtime. “Did he rape her?”

“No. We got to him before he could. It’s—she was—”

“Just fucking spit it out.”

“She was smiling when we found her. Covered in blood and smiling up at him as he raised his fist to hit her again.”

“Where is he?”

“Still in the garage. We worked him over pretty good, but we know the final decision is yours.”

“Where’s fucking Pete?” That’s two people now that weren’t supposed to show their faces around here anymore.

“Had some personal shit to take care of tonight. We have Sonic on the gate.”

“A brand-new fucking prospect? Whose fucking bright idea was that?”

“Seriously?” Chains stops me with a grip on my arm. “I texted you earlier, and you said it was fine.”

I almost shake my head, but quickly remember Molly picking up my phone when it buzzed earlier. Groggy from both exhaustion from riding and the fun we’d had together, I didn’t even open my eyes when she told me it was nothing before putting my phone back down.

“I was half asleep.” My excuse is flimsy at best, considering what has happened here tonight. “I want Pete back immediately.”

“And Sonic?” I know exactly what he’s asking. He wants to clarify if two men will be taking their last breaths tonight.

“Leave him in there with Pete for the next six months. Pete needs a fucking break every once in a while.”

“He won’t ever take one again after finding out what happened tonight,” Chains sighs.

Ignoring Chains, I continue toward the garage. I have two reasons to let my monster out tonight. However, Mac is a distant second when I step inside the garage and see the piece of shit that tried to get with Molly. A girl got hurt on my watch tonight because I was too wrapped up in a princess I have no fucking business putting my hands on. That poor girl’s pain and suffering are my fault and a brutal reminder of why Molly and I can never happen.

Chapter 31

Molly

“You’re getting better,” Xena praises as I pull my third cherry stem from my mouth.

“I can’t do it,” Legs grumbles, pulling a mangled stem from her lips.

“May be the reason you can’t keep TJ interested,” Vixen taunts. “No mouth skill.”

“Enough,” Xena snaps when Legs drops the stem and begins to move around the table to go after the girl who insulted her. She glares at Vixen. “Go entertain Boston.”

Vixen shrugs before leaving us standing at the table. The atmosphere has changed. The fun was sucked out of the room the second Chains walked in with a weary look on his face before Briar followed him outside.

“I wonder what’s going on.”

“You know better than to even think about anything like that,” Xena chastises me. “Much less open your mouth to speak of it.”

I turn my attention to her, eyes narrowed in annoyance. “You going to give me some command to take care of one of the guys, too?”
