“Ummm... I’m not sittin’ in the back with him,” Harley declared, looking at Trigger and then Shiloh.

I was already sitting in the back seat, sprawled out like the king I was. “Why, baby girl? Scared you won’t be able to keep your hands off me?”

“Oh my God.” She shook her head, looking at Trigger with wide eyes. “It’s a seven-hour drive. I’ll kill him. I can’t sit back there.”

“Babe,” Shiloh pleaded, looking at him in a way he’d never have a chance to win.

“Oh, Shy ... you have no idea how much you’re gonna owe me.”

“Pleaseeeeee...”

He scoffed out a chuckle and moved aside so Harley could sit up front.

Fuckin’ brat.

Two could play this game.

Once we were on the road, I started conjuring up my plan. For the last hour, I did everything I could think of to annoy her.

Taunting.

Teasing.

Bullying.

My last resort, Teddy.

“I know, buddy. You love me so much more than you love Harley. Gremlin,” I sang out loud. “Teddy says he wants to come live with me. He’s thinks he can help me score chicks. What do you think, Trigger? This dog would attract a lot of pussy, right?”

“Oh man ... you’re askin’ for it,” she muttered under her breath.

I was.

I wanted it.

All of it.

Her.

“Teddy, I know why your momma sucks so bad. She’s just a girl.”

“That’s it!” She roughly unbuckled her seat belt and spun around.

I cocked my head to the side, grinning. “What are you gonna do, Gremlin?”

“I’m gonna make you shut the fuck up!”

Trigger swiftly moved out of the way as she hauled ass over the center console to the back, tackling me. She slammed my back into the seat and straddled my waist. Pitifully holding me down.

“Always knew you wanted to ride me.” In two seconds flat, I turned her over. Pinning her beneath me instead.

“You’re an asshole! I hate you.”

I smiled, I win.

Leanin’ in close to her ear, I whispered,

“I got you to sit in the back with me, didn’t I?”

Chapter 12

After sufferin’ in the car I was thrilled to have my own space to breathe until Jackson barged in through the door of my room at the log cabin, throwin’ his big ass duffle bag on my bed.

Taken back, I questioned, “What the hell do you think you’re doin’?”

He didn’t hesitate, jumpin’ on the mattress. Layin’ his ass in the middle of the bed with his head against my pillow and one arm behind his stubborn skull.

“Our room, Gremlin.”

“Excuse me, what?”

Teddy followed in his footsteps, quickly hoppin’ up and ploppin’ down right next to him. Happy as could be that he was there with us.

“Traitor,” I scolded my furry friend who liked this dumbass more than me.

“Teddy, it’s okay. Your Momma’s just jealous ’cuz you love me more than her.”

I couldn’t even argue you that, he totally did.

Which proved one thing and one thing alone, Jackson Rudolph Pierce would forever be a thorn in my side. Just when I thought we’d reached neutral territory, boom—he throws me for another loop. Considerin’ he me made me scratch his back for the last hour of our car ride. Makin’ me think we were in the friend zone again, but nope.

Dead fuckin’ wrong.

“You heard me.”

“Rudolph, you’re not sleepin’ in here.”

“It’s a big enough bed for all of us, right, Teddy?”

I swear my dog nodded and winked at the bastard.

“What part of my father murderin’ you didn’t you understand? You’re so quick to forget the gun aimed at you just hours ago.”

“I’m just doing what I promised.”

“By tryin’ to sleep with his daughter—”

“Whoa, whoa, whoa.” He put his hands up in the air, offended. “I never said anything about fuckin’ you, Gremlin.” He winked, and Teddy covered his face as if he was embarrassed or somethin’.

“You’re traumatizin’ my dog and his virgin ears.”

“How about your virgin ears?”

“Get out of my room!”

“Harley, I shouldn’t be held responsible ’cuz you can’t resist me. Not that I blame you, I’m very irresistible.”

“Ugh. You’re so full of it.”

“I’m just trying to protect you.”

“From what exactly? Big Foot?”

“Well, I mean, he is a legend for fuck sake.”

I shook my head, hidin’ back a smile. Grabbin’ his duffle bag off my bed, I chucked it out the door. “You’re not sleepin’ with me.”

“There you go thinking with your pussy again. I’m not a piece of meat, Harley.”

“Oh my God,” I scoffed out a chuckle. “Get out of my room!”

He didn’t.

The rest of the day went off without a hitch. We all got settled in and unpacked before devisin’ a plan for the rest of the trip. Let’s just say, shoppin’ was added, considerin’ I threw all of Jackson’s clothes off the outside balcony in my room. Claimin’ the bears needed them more than he did.

He wasn’t amused.

I, on the other hand, thought I deserved a prank of the year award.

Our next stop was the grocery store to stock the fridge. While Shiloh and I were worried about what we’d be eatin’ and cookin’, the boys were more concerned with scorin’ booze. Which they did, usin’ their fake IDs.
