“Marco! Buongiorno!”

The older man kissed each of Liam’s cheeks and rattled something off in Italian. Waylynn leaned in and said, “He just asked Liam how he ended up with two beautiful women on his arm.”

My cheeks blushed. Waylynn had taken six years of Italian, but I decided to keep that information to myself.

“I’m a lucky bastard, that’s how,” Liam said.

“I see that,” Marco said. “What brings you here, my friend?”

Liam grinned. “We needed a change from the city and I bragged about your food. Don’t make me regret it.”

Marco pretended to punch Liam in the stomach before turning to us. “Come, come. I’ve got the perfect table for you. You can see the water, very romantic.” He wiggled his eyebrows before leading us to our seats.

“Marco is a bit of a character, but he’s a good guy,” Liam said as we followed a few steps behind. “He did business with my father a few years back.”

“Really? What does your father do?” I asked.

Liam let out a snarky growl. “He makes money and likes to tell everyone how much.”

Note to self: Liam’s father is not a happy topic.

Ahead of us, Marco and Waylynn were speaking in Italian. Well, there went my secret.

“Your sister speaks Italian?” Liam asked.

I nodded. “Yeah, she took six years of it.”

“Wow. What about you? Do you speak another language?”

Laughing, I shook my head. “I took two years of Spanish and not one word stuck with me.”

Behind Liam, a couple caught my attention. I stopped walking and started staring.

Holy shit balls. My heartbeat doubled as panic set in.

Liam stopped. “Hey, is everything okay?”

I slowly shook my head and whispered, “No. This is far from okay.”

Following my gaze, Liam stared at the couple who were now locked in a kiss. It wasn’t hard for him to see what I was staring at. They were the only two people sitting in the corner.

“Do you know them?”

I pulled my eyes off the couple and looked at Liam. “The guy lip-locked with that woman is Jack…Waylynn’s husband!”

Liam’s head jerked. “Shit’s fucked.”

“What?” I asked.

“That’s fucked up,” he translated.

“Yeah, it is. Shit, this is bad.” My eyes traveled to my sister. Marco and Waylynn figured out we had stopped, they stopped and turned to face us. Waylynn wore a huge smile, but it quickly dropped. She must have sensed something because her eyes swung from me to Jack and then to the young bleached-blonde who had stopped sucking his face long enough to feed Jack something off her plate.

“Oh, no. Waylynn sees him.”

“Okay, well, should I go beat his ass or something?”

Waylynn had frozen with a stunned expression. Glancing at me, she forced a smile then walked straight over. “We need to leave.”

Nodding, Liam and I followed her out of the restaurant.

“Is everything okay?” Marco asked. Liam told him what had happened in a rushed whisper.

Waylynn got in the car faster than I could even say goodbye to Marco. My heart ached for my sister. My first instinct was to call my parents, but this was Waylynn’s problem, and I had to let her decide how to handle it.

“Liam, I’m so sorry to cut today short, but I think it’s best if I head back to my sister’s place.”

“Of course, yes. I’m more than happy to drive you back there, love.”

With a smile, I reached up on my toes and kissed him on the lips. “I had a lot of fun.”

He frowned. “This is not you saying goodbye, is it, Amelia Parker? Because Texas or not, I plan on seeing you again.”

I could feel the burn of heat on my cheeks. “I’d like that.”

Liam’s arm draped across my shoulders as he walked us to his car. I slipped into the backseat with Waylynn, expecting to see her crying.

But that’s not what I found. My sister’s head was high, a look of determination on her face.

A true Parker.

The keys rattled as I dropped them on the side table. Walking into the apartment, I glanced around for Nancy. The moaning from her bedroom meant she was screwing some guy.

“Great,” I huffed, making my way to the kitchen.

“Oh, John! Faster! Harder!”

The container of milk stopped at my lips. Her damn door was open. I sighed and took a long drink as she kept up her little show.

“Yes! That’s it! Don’t. Stop.”

After grabbing an apple, I headed down the hall. My stomach growled; I hadn’t picked up lunch after the whole mess at Marco’s.

“Nancy!” a deep voice cried out.

Stopping at her door, I took a bite of the apple, and Nancy’s eyes met mine. She smiled and moaned again.

“Want to join us?” she asked as the guy on top of her went to town, not even bothering to see who was there.

“No, thanks. Sloppy seconds aren’t my thing.”

Before she could respond, I pulled the door shut and headed to my room. Two days ago, I might have said yes to that invitation—with the ground rule that cocks don’t touch under any circumstances. But now, all I could think about was the beautiful, blue-eyed redhead who rocked my world last night and again this morning. Amelia was heading back to Texas and I already hated the thought of it.
