“I…” My father’s question comes out of the blue and sends me spinning. A feeling rises in my chest. I know what the answer is, but even Dax and I haven’t said the words to each other.

I believe I know what his answer will be, but what if it’s something different? What if he isn’t ready to say it back? What if—?

“I know I love her,” Dax says, shattering the silence. His eyes wrap me in their embrace. I feel it now – the unbreakable bond between us as real as anything you could reach out and touch with your hands, and any last bit of hesitation I had within me vanishes.

“I didn’t ask you,” my dad says. “I asked her—”

“Yes,” I reply instantly. “I love him. I love you, Dax.”

My heart pulses gold in the wake of such a monumental confession. Yet another first for me. I’ve never said that to a man before – not even to a high school crush or anything when I didn’t really mean it. I always knew that if I said those words, those sacred words, I would want them to really mean something. And now I know that Dax and I are bonded with a bond that will never break.

Dax steps into the house, and my father steps aside to make room for him.

“Well, that’s good enough for me,” he says. “Because I can’t think of a better man on Earth to take care of my baby girl.”

My father lifts his arm from around me and takes a step back. I can feel the tears welling up in my eyes as Dax steps forward, slips a hand around my waist, and pulls me to him.

“I don’t believe it,” I whisper. “I mean…I honestly don’t believe it!”

“It all worked out,” he whispers back. “And I want you to know that I really want to kiss you right now.”

I giggle and glance back at my shoulder to see my father looking at us, a small smile on his face.

“Yeah, not in front of my father. Not yet.”

Dax

Five years later…

I step into the house, and a wonderful smell fills my nostrils. Instantly my mouth is watering. I set my keys down and walk into the kitchen to find my beautiful wife at the stove wearing nothing but a kitchen apron and a pair of black heels.

“Is that the new recipe?” I ask her with a smile.

“It sure is,” she replies with a flourish of her wooden spoon. “Just like Momma used to make it.”

She’s stirring a pot of spaghetti sauce, a test batch for our latest recipe, that with any luck, will be on shelves within the next three months. It will join the rest of our seven flavors that have launched our business into a massively successful company that took us out of the trailer park and into this gorgeous, five-bedroom home we now share.

I say our business because that’s what I consider it. I may have gotten things off the ground, and I may have Momma to thank for the original and classic recipe, but Becca got involved as soon as the warehouse space was approved for food production.

At first, she basically acted as my secretary, a very sexy secretary, and helped save me a ton of money up front, but as things progressed and things started to take off, she actually proved to have a lot of insight on the marketing side of things as far as where we should spend ad dollars, who we should market to, and what stores we should expand to first. Within a year, we were the hottest thing in the sauce industry. Everybody was talking about us.

Of course she had to start working from home when Jacob, our first son, was born. But we were both more than okay with that. I never thought I could love my wife more until I watched her body grow and change, until that day we rushed to the hospital, and she brought that little crying bundle of joy into the world. It was like witnessing actual magic.

Jerry was blown away too.

“I’m a granddad,” he chuckled when he saw Jacob. “And a lot sooner than I thought I would be.”

I brought him into the company and made him my head of production. He oversees all my facilities and makes sure everything’s running smoothly – basically keeps everyone in shape and is the only other person, other than Becca and myself, who knows our recipes. Thank God it’s a family operation, because something like this could be taken down by a mole on the inside. With Jerry and Becca on my side, I don’t have to worry about that.

“Is he sleeping?” I ask as I come around the counter and run my eyes up her legs, the curve of her hips, the mound of her perfect ass framed by the bow of the apron tied just above it. Becca wasted no time “getting back in shape” after her pregnancy. Even though I told her not to worry, and that I loved her body how it was, she was back in the gym and working out in no time. Somehow, I think her ass is even firmer and plumper than it ever was.
