And I know I may not deserve to have her in my life, but I’m going to keep her anyway.

“Kade.” My arm slides out. She was about to hit the corridor where the restrooms are. It was now or never, and when the palm of my hand meets her abdomen, she relaxes, allowing me to pull her into my chest.

“Drena, babe. Come on, let’s get out of here.” She softens for only a breath of a moment before her spine goes ramrod straight and she tries to wriggle out of my grasp. I hold her tighter.

“Kade, we can’t. This isn’t right.”

“Fuck that. We’re right. This is right.” The last thing I wanna do is have this conversation out in the open. My options are limited: the men’s restroom, the women’s restroom, or the employee lounge, which I’m thinking isn’t a good idea. I choose the women’s restroom, and I’m going for broke hoping there isn’t a soul inside. I keep Drena locked tightly to me, my legs spreading in order to make room for her hips as I do a crab-like walk with her inside the women’s restroom.

“No, no way, Kade. We can’t go in there. You can’t go in there.” She tries to put up a fuss. My hand not on her tight little body pushes the door open. My eyes case the place, making sure there aren’t any old ladies ready to wallop me in the head with their purse for being in this restroom.

“Room’s clear. We either talk in here with the door locked or out in the hallway where everyone in this damn restaurant can hear. Your choice.” I reluctantly let her go, use my foot to shut the door, and turn to lock it. Through it all, she remains silent. It’s not until I’m facing her that I see the silent tears streaking down her cheeks. “Goddamn it, Drena. Get over here.”

“Kade.” She’s barely holding herself together. I meet her more than halfway and wrap my arms around her body. The tips of her fingers dig into my chest, the starched fabric almost too much of a barrier to feel her nails.

“I’ve got you, babe.” Drena cries quietly. That doesn’t mean she’s not attempting to soak my shirt with her tears.

“We’re related now.” She tilts her head up. Her face is red and splotchy, mascara smudged to shit, and she’s never looked more beautiful.

“Fuck no, we aren’t. They’re married. So fucking what? You’re not my sister, and I’m not your brother. Not by blood and definitely not by their marriage.” I don’t go into detail about my father’s past, but I will be. My eyes take Drena in, liking the front of this dress of hers as much as the back. The black dress is tight from tits to ass, thin straps holding it up, and I’d bet my left nut she’s not wearing a bra either. My cock hardens thinking about the ways I’m going to take her while her tits are out and she’s bent over with her dress pulled up to her waist. I shouldn’t be thinking about fucking her, not when she’s visibly upset. But where Drena’s concerned, I’m not sure anything could keep me from thinking about being inside of her.

“I can’t do this to my mom, Kade. You don’t understand. She’s never had someone in her life. It was always work, making sure I had everything up until I was able to stand on my own two feet.” She takes a deep breath. “She and I don’t see eye to eye, don’t get me wrong. She hates that I didn’t go to a prestigious music school and prefer to teach children instead. Still, this will destroy her.”

“Drena.” I drop my forehead to hers as I say her name. My hands move to her hips, holding her still until she takes a deep breath and settles down. I’ve got a few things I need to say and she needs to hear. The only question is if I do it while I’m balls deep inside of the woman I love.

10 Drena

“My mom died when I was fifteen. Ever since then, my dad’s been on a path of destruction. The man you met back there isn’t the one my mother married or I grew up with. He’s money hungry, doesn’t care who stands in his way, and will use anyone he can until he achieves what he wants.” I’m not sure why Kade is telling me this now. I’m not going to change my mind even if this means I won’t see him again after tonight.

“I’m sorry,” I respond. Losing a parent at any age is hard, but when you’re a teenager, I imagine it’s ten times harder.

“Appreciate it. Happened long time ago. She’s in a better place. Cancer.” I nod, swallowing the golf-ball-sized lump in the back of my throat. My nerves have really taken a hit today, my appetite is all but gone, and I could really use time at my piano or the solace of the ocean right about now.
