“We’re at Blaze. It’s a BDSM Club on the outskirts of town. I’ll text you the address. If you can come in quietly, you’ll scare a lot less people,” Bear requested.

“I’ll leave the flashing lights and siren alone.” The detective chuckled before sobering to say, “Stay with her.”

“I’m not leaving her side,” Bear promised before hanging up.

The detective’s last statement sent a shiver of fear through her. Daisy looked around to see if anyone lurked nearby. Were they watching to see her reaction? Was she still in danger?

“I’m not going to let anything happen to you, Baby girl.” Her Daddy wrapped an arm around her waist and pulled her close before texting with his free hand.

With that task completed, he asked, “Why didn’t you tell me about the flowers?”

“I really thought everything was okay after those men were arrested.”

“Promise me you’ll tell me anything that makes you even slightly nervous from now on. This isn’t negotiable,” he warned.

“I promise.”

“Thank you, Baby girl.”

The sound of an approaching car made them look down the drive. A police cruiser approached quietly. They watched the driver zero in on their location and pull behind Daisy’s car.

“Tarson, Daisy,” Detective Wyatt Hazelton greeted them as he exited the car.

“You remember my partner, Avery Reynolds,” he mentioned to Bear.

“Hi. Thank you both for coming,” Daisy chimed in. “I should have called before, but I thought the problem was solved and I didn’t want to bother anyone.”

“Always call. Better safe than sorry. Show me where you found the flowers today,” Wyatt directed.

“We both noticed them as I walked Daisy to her car. They’re under one windshield wiper,” Bear explained as he backed up, guiding his Little with him.

“Did you touch anything?” Avery asked.

“I touched the ribbon without thinking. It’s the kind that florist’s order special for arrangements. That grade isn’t usually available for commercial sale,” Daisy explained. “We’ve had it in the shop for as long as I can remember.”

She studied the officially dressed woman. Somehow, Daisy felt like she knew her—not in an official capacity, of course, but like she’d seen her somewhere before.

“Do you have a partner at your shop?” the policewoman probed, pulling Daisy from her thoughts as Wyatt pulled on gloves and moved to the front of the car.

“No. I have a couple of employees. I can’t see either trying to scare me,” Daisy rushed to defend her friends.

“Usually, it’s someone you know—not just a random person,” Avery shared.

“There’s not a note or an overt threat. I’m going to take a few pictures to document this and seal the flowers in an evidence bag, just in case. It looks like someone’s trying to scare you.”

While Bear and Daisy watched, Wyatt completed those two things before asking. “Does anyone come to mind who might want to frighten you? A disgruntled employee or customer?”

“No. I have a great job. People love getting flowers, even on a sad occasion,” Daisy assured him.

“I’ll have the lab look these over but there’s a backlog of cases. Unless there’s an urgent threat, they’ll put this on the back burner until they have some free time,” Wyatt shared before he handed the bag to his partner.

As she walked to the trunk, Wyatt leaned in to ask privately, “May I ask the review process for joining the club? I’m new in the area and didn’t know this existed here.”

Daisy watched Bear pull a card from his wallet and hand it to the detective.

“As long as you’re not trying to close us down, here’s the website to apply. It will ask you for people who can vouch for you. Add my name if you’re interested in adult play and can leave your officer status at the door. Membership is confidential and protected, of course.”

“Of course. I can give you a contact at my last club to vouch for me as well,” Wyatt assured him as he tucked the card into his wallet.

“You can add my name as well,” Avery shared. “I’m a member but haven’t been active since I lost my…. Well, that’s not important.”

“I thought you looked familiar!” Daisy rushed forward to hug the other woman.

“Is it safe for him to know you’re Little?” Daisy whispered in her ear.

“I think so, but don’t share that just yet,” Avery answered, equally quietly.

Daisy stepped back and nodded. “I’m glad to see you. Could I have one of your cards? Just in case something else happens?”

Avery pulled out a slightly tattered card and handed it over. “Sorry. It’s been mangled a few times in my pocket.”

“Thanks,” Daisy said, tucking it into the pocket of her poufy yellow dress before smoothing her hand over the fabric to make sure it was safely inside.

“Be alert to your surroundings. Call 911 or one of us if something or someone makes you uneasy. It’s always smart to listen to what your intuition is telling you,” Wyatt warned.
