Inside me, something tender breaks, and I feel a rush of tears coming to my eyes, because it’s too good, all of this, them, us. I love them. I love Crane. I love Brom. I never want to be without either. I want, need, this ritual to work so that Brom can return to us fully and we can leave this place and never look back.

“Oh God,” I whisper, my words broken, my heart full.

I feel them break away from me, and I’m so cold and empty and scared, but then their hands stay on my body, keeping the connection, and they move up on either side of me, touching me. Holding me, letting me know that they have me.

Crane tilts my chin toward him, and I’m still so dizzy from the orgasm and my roiling emotions that I have a hard time even focusing on his beautiful, austere face. Then he leans in and kisses the tears away from my eyes, savoring them.

“Tears of pleasure taste the same as tears of pain,” he murmurs, almost to himself, as if it’s another fact to file away, and I can’t help but break into a smile because even in the midst of all of this, he’s still curious. He’s still Professor Crane.

He meets my eyes. “I think we got you wet enough to handle anything.”

I clear my throat. “I would say so.” Though I am starting to get nervous about what’s next to come.

Brom gently trails his fingers over my stomach, resting his head on my shoulder. “Are you alright?” he asks, and my skin tingles at how attentive and gentle he’s being.

I nod. “I am. Are you still needing to come?”

“What do you think?” Brom asks, moving his hips so the stiff length of his erection is pressed against my side. It’s so hot it feels like it’s branding me.

I reach down and wrap my hand around his thick, blunt head, sliding my thumb over the pearly beads of arousal, and he pinches his eyes shut, letting out a hiss.

I go to do the same to Crane on the other side of me, but like before, he moves his hips out of the way. “I don’t need extra encouragement. And you should probably let go of his dick because he looks seconds from coming right on your face. There will be plenty of time for that later.” He leans in and kisses my shoulder. “The most important part is that we made you feel loved and cherished.”

“You did.”

“Good,” he says, placing a soft kiss beside my lips. “Because now we need to move on to the ritual before it gets too late.”

And at that he gets up.

The energy in the glen shifts.

Sobriety settles in, clearing my head.

Brom gets up next and then they both reach down and pull me to my feet. It’s really hard not to notice their cocks, how heavy and thick and engorged they are, obviously aching to be touched, to find release. “Are you sure I can’t help you?” I whisper, wanting to touch them, wanting to watch their eyes roll back in their heads for a change.

“Trust me, darling, you will,” Crane says. They lead me closer to the bag at the edge of the circle where Crane brings out several vials.

“This,” Crane says to me, holding up one of oil with a yellow tinge, “is sunflower oil. You’ll figure out what that’s for soon.” Then he holds up a greenish one with herbs in it. “This is the poultice to heal any of our wounds. All the cuts for the blood magic will be superficial, but this will still go a long way.” He puts them back in the bag and the pulls out three more vials, purple in color. “And these are the elixirs that will help us be more perceptive to the veil—and help those in the veil be more perceptive to us.”

He hands a vial to me and Brom, and I stare down at the liquid as it seems to move around in the glass, making the skin of my palm glow mauve.

“So what’s the plan?” I ask quietly. “What do we do?”

“First we take the elixir,” he says.

“We take it first?” I exclaim. “I thought we would take it at the end! Why open us up to the veil now?”

“Because we need to draw on that energy too,” Crane explains. “You recall when you were in the void? You were drawing things to you because of your energy. This school draws things to it because of its energy. Blood magic will bond us, sex magic will intensify that bond, which is needed to act as a united front. But those two things combined together will draw even more energy toward us. Dark magic from the spirit world is needed to exorcise the horseman. Our bond will push him out, the spirits will pull him the rest of the way. They want to take. They will take the horseman.”
