“I’ve overheard there’s a plan to take down the whole of Black Hollow.” He looks like he’s seen a fucking ghost. There have been threats in the past. Too many to count, but this has my blood running cold.

“Call a meeting, and bring in every fucking Capo there is. I want it done tonight.” He’s out the door, following my order, and I know that soon enough, all hell is about to break loose.

LOVE IS A WEAPON

KAI

I didn’t think about the future with a woman until Brielle entered our lives. I took each day as it came, and I never expected an emotion as strong as love to take a hold of me. But now things have changed, and I’m unsure of my place with her. I don’t know how she feels about me. With Valen and Judah, I know how we feel about each other. Brielle is an anomaly.

My focus is not on work. The classes I have coming up are going to be a challenge because the only thing on my mind is her. She's in my thoughts, and I’m not sure how to get her out. But then again… Do I want her out?

“Kai,” Brielle’s voice steals my attention, bringing me back to the present, where I’m standing in the gym with my cock throbbing at the idea of her laid bare between the three of us.

“What are you doing here?” I demand.

I didn’t expect her to be here. Not that I’m complaining. She looks incredible in a summer dress that’s the colour of cherries. The hemline hits her mid-thigh, while the strap top is offering up delicious views of her shoulders and those gorgeous curves of her cleavage.

“I think we need to talk at some point,” she tells me with a shy smile. “I mean… You’ve seen me naked.”

“I have,” I agree with a nod. “And what a fucking delicious vision that was.” I cross my arms as she enters the workout space.

I’ve been in here with her so many times, training her to fight, but this feels a little different than before. Or rather, it feels far more intimate this time.

“I just thought if you’re class isn’t starting for a while, maybe I can sit with you and we can talk.” Her cheeks heat as she glances around the room, but she doesn’t look at me.

“Are you shy?” My question makes her smile, but then she nods slowly.

After all that’s happened between us, I can’t help but feel protective towards her. I step closer, and I reach for her chin. Gently, I tip her head back so she’s looking at me.

“You know you can tell me anything.” I whisper gently.

“I’ve never had three men who are so focused on me.” Her admission makes me pull her into my arms. This is one of the few times I’ve been alone and close to her, other than when we’ve been training.

“Look at me,” I order, taking the lead. When she obeys, something deep inside me comes to life. “You’re ours. It doesn’t matter which one of us is with you. There’s no reason to hide. You should see us all as the same person in your life—lover, protector, friend.” I glance at my watch. “My next class starts in about forty minutes.” I tell her. “So, we’ve got time to sit down and talk for a while.”

Brielle nods and settles on one of the mats, crossing her legs, Buddha style. I try not to allow my gaze to trail over her exposed thighs, but I fail miserably.

“I’ve never been with three men,” she says right off the bat, and I can’t help but smile. “I mean…I haven’t even been with two men at the same time, so this is all new to me.”

“Okay,” I respond slowly, unsure of where she’s going with this. I settle opposite her, and once again, fight the desire to stare at her smooth, slender legs. “Maybe this is where you need to breathe and consider that your future is with us. Perhaps having us all here to talk to would help. Also, I know, Judah is going to be your—”

“My husband,” she cuts in. “I know. I just needed… well… I’m not sure what the hell I need. But with him, I feel this pressure to be someone that he expects me to be.”

“And you’re not.” I nod.

Judah has this way with people. He enjoys challenging them. He’s done it to all of us over the years. But I suppose, we’ve become accustomed to him being an arsehole.

“I think I just need to connect with you since Valen and I are already friends, at least, that’s how I see him. But with you…I know nothing about you.”

Her words falter, and the silence hangs heavily between us. I didn’t want to tell her yet, but I think it’s come time to finally admit what the fuck is going on with me and my life.
