Grinning, he picked me up and took the few steps to his bedroom. I started to argue, knowing he shouldn’t be carrying me, but we were in the bedroom before I could open my mouth. Not wasting any time, he grabbed my pants and yanked them off me. My legs opened wide for him as he buried his head between my thighs and licked the juices flowing from me.

Biting my thigh, he moved toward my clit and sucked, causing my whole body to shudder with desire. Moving my right leg up with his hand under my knee, he moved into a position that allowed him to continue working my clit while his finger danced in and out of me with extreme precision. He managed to hit all the right spots, causing me to lose all control. Thoroughly wet and under his command, I let him push both knees back, and he met my eyes as he buried his thick cock inside me, balls deep. We found our rhythm, and I was pretty certain they could hear my moaning all the way in town. He fit inside me like a glove. Returning the favor from earlier, he would take me just to the edge and pull back slightly while I tried to outmaneuver him by grinding my hips against him. Finally, I couldn’t take any more.

“Please,” I begged. “I need it, please.”

“Tell me, baby,” he demanded. “Tell me what you need.”

“You, fuck,” I pleaded. “I need all of you in me.”

He smiled widely, knowing he’d won this round, and unloaded his cock inside me, shoving against me to make sure I took it all in. And then, collapsing beside me, we both lay there until our breathing returned to normal.

We spent the rest of the evening cuddling, talking softly about our hopes for the future and learning a little more about our pasts. Occasionally, one of us would peek out the window just to make sure reporters hadn’t come closer to the house. By now, I was sure someone had identified me. I texted my parents again so they would be prepared if someone showed up there and tried to cause trouble. My dad assured me he was ready the minute someone unwanted stepped on the property. Finally, we both drifted off to sleep, still wrapped up in each other’s arms.

Two days later, there was not a doubt in my mind that my future was with this man. We’d spent the last two days enjoying each other and working on our projects. Since I didn’t have my laptop, he let me borrow his to work on the editorial. After the latest bout with the media, he decided he’d rather get his story out there sooner rather than later. My parents had called yesterday, giving us the latest update from town. Someone from a news channel in Nashville had shown up at their shop, but their timing couldn’t have been worse as both the chief of police and the sheriff were in the store talking with them at the same time. The sheriff confirmed it was the same outfit involved in the accident. With the unwelcome they received, everyone seemed to think they would stay out of Ashford.

In between getting to know each other better, we’d watched a couple of movies and camped out in the moonlight last night. It was an intense way to get to know each other more, but it was working for us. A couple of times, I’d had to pinch myself. It still amazed me that just a couple of weeks ago, I’d had this whole other life in DC and now I was happily back in the tiny hometown I’d only ever wanted to get away from. I wanted to spend every day with him. Yesterday, I’d called my old boss and officially let him know I wasn’t coming back. Landon and I had talked about it, and he agreed with my parents. It was time for me to focus on my dreams.

Shelby had also reached out to a local lawyer, and he and Landon had already talked about the case, along with the police. Any day now, they would serve the news agencies with a statement, and the private property signs should be up by the end of the day. The same owner owned both empty cabins at the front of the property and offered Landon the chance to buy them and the land. Hearing the story, he made him an offer he couldn’t resist. The lawyer was working on the land transfer as well.

Needless to say, it had been a whirlwind two weeks, much like our entire time together. Through it all, he’d shown me tremendous strength. It would have been easy for him to withdraw again, but he didn’t. I was beyond proud of him. I wondered if he truly realized how amazing he was. Probably not. We’re often hardest on ourselves. I made a note to remind him every day going forward so he didn’t have any doubts.
