“I guess,” he agrees, putting the empty beer down and reaching for a second already. “But I got bets on you, so you better not fuck up.”

“Really?” I laugh. “That might just be enough incentive to throw the match.”

“Fuck off,” he grumbles, as the girls finally emerge from the bathroom.

Charli comes out in a gold sequined dress that hugs her perfect body just right, and I get up off the couch and go straight for her, unable to resist. I grab her wrists and hold them up over her head before slamming her up against the wall.

My lips come down on her neck, and I press my body against hers as she stifles a needy moan. She lifts her legs around my waist, and I grind myself into her, knowing she’s fucking wet for me. Pinning her against the wall with my body, I release her wrists so I can begin exploring.

A throat clears behind us, and I groan into her neck. “Do you think they’ll go away if we pretend they aren’t here?” I murmur.

Charli giggles. “It’s worth a try.”

“Seriously, dude? I know you love your girl and all, but I’m sure tonight’s forty grand will look pretty good in your bank account,” Aaron comments.

“Would you shut up,” Zara scolds Aaron. “This shit is hot. Please go about your business. Just pretend we’re not here.”

I let out a sigh as I grind myself against her again. “This isn’t over,” I warn her.

“I’m counting on it,” Charli grins as she untwines her legs from my waist.

We lock up and head for Aaron’s truck, and as he pulls the keys from his pocket, I snatch them from his hand before making my way to the driver’s seat.

“Hey,” he demands, spreading his arms out. “What gives?”

“You just had two beers in the space of five minutes. I’m not letting you drive, especially with my girl in the truck.”

“Fine,” he sulks as he climbs up into the passenger’s seat, knowing I’m damn right. The girls get in the back, and soon enough, I’m pulling up at tonight’s location.

We make our way in, and just like the few times before, they come in through the back with me until it’s time to get ready.

Cole wraps my hands, and I’m pleased to find my match is second in line. I’ll be in and out in no time, then I can get back home and bury myself deep inside my girl until she screams.

Half an hour later, I stand in the middle of the ring with the crowd cheering my name, waiting for my opponent to emerge.

The kid who’s better known as The Dark Shadow struts out into the ring, too fucking cocky for his own good. He’s roughly the same size as me, and from watching him the week before, he’s just as quick, which means tonight comes down to pure skill.

Luke blurts out his stats while Jace helps me warm up, and apparently, while he’s fast with his punches, his footwork is lacking. He also favors his right side, which is just enough information to give me a good boost into the match.

The fight gets started, and just as I expected, we’re equally matched. As I land a blow, he gets one on me in return. I know watching this must be killing Charli’s nerves, so I do my best to get the job done without being touched.

Just as I had told Aaron, I need a clear mind with this one. I keep my stare focused on the guy, forgetting Charli in the crowd, forgetting the eager fans, forgetting Aaron’s bet. All that matters is taking him down. I watch, waiting for every little movement he makes, and I quickly realize that I’m so deep in concentration that I’m almost his mirror image. When he moves, I move.

The fight goes on and the crowd screams for an ending. Comments like finish him fly around, and I have to admit, the crass nature sort of spurs me on.

I could go on forever, but at the same time, I want to get back to my girl and enjoy the night, so I push myself a little harder. My punches come out stronger and faster, and my reflexes sharpen.

I get the guy down to his knees with a kick, and I hear him gasping for breath, even though I could have just kept going until exhaustion claimed him. I get him down, but he isn’t ready to forfeit that forty grand just yet.

The Dark Shadow punches and kicks up at me in desperation, so I drop down on top of him, locking his arms at his side. He squirms beneath me, and I see the realization in his eyes. He knows I’ve got him. Putting him out of his misery, I bring my fist down against the side of his head.
