“When geeks go wild,” King said with a chuckle as he moved past. “Reminds me of…” He stopped before sharing something that was obviously personal. “Never mind. Where do you want me to put my stuff?”

“There should be a bedroom with two doubles in it. You’ll be in there.” I didn’t add the ever-important detail that he’d be sharing the room with me. I was too tired from the long traveling days to get into it with him again so soon. Instead, I set my bags down by the front door and wandered into the large farmhouse-style kitchen to make sure the groceries we’d arranged for had been delivered. If not, we’d need to run back into the nearby village before it buttoned up and went to sleep.

Thankfully the place had been fully stocked to our specifications, and I even found a premade casserole that only needed to be heated up in the oven. Just as I was trying to figure out how to work the unfamiliar controls, Mouse wandered in and took over.

“You’re a terrible cook,” he admonished. “It’s better for all of us if you let me do this. Why don’t you scrounge us up some plates and silverware? And they probably left us some sparkling water and wine to go with it.”

I let the younger agent boss me around until it was time to eat. When I went poking around to find King, I discovered him facedown on one of the double beds with still-damp hair and nothing but a towel wrapped around his waist. He’d clearly taken a shower and then passed out without even getting under the covers.

Instead of waking him, I nudged the door almost all the way closed and moved farther into the room to get a better look at him.

I wasn’t usually a dirty old man, but this… this situation was different.

Or so I told myself.

Kingston Wilde was made up of slender muscle and youthful perfection. His skin was smooth and flawless, and it wrapped around fit musculature in a way that reminded me of his feline moniker.

The man had an ass on him that attracted my attention like a nice pair of breasts probably would have if I’d ever been straight. The bubbled roundness of his butt sloped up from his lower back where twin indentions sunk into his winter-pale skin. I wanted to lick into them one at a time and then peel that fucking towel off his ass to see what lay underneath.

The arm closest to me was lifted above his head and curled around a pillow. I could see a glimpse of brown armpit hair which had always been a particular weakness of mine on a man. The stretch of his arm exposed the side of his ribs, making him look vulnerable. His hair had been drying into a crazy mess, which made my fingers itch once again to tunnel their way in and straighten the floppy locks.

I sat on the bed next to his and opened my mouth to say something. Before I could get the words out, he blinked awake and gazed at me. Our eyes met and held for a beat way longer than any normal interaction. My heart raced and stomach clenched. This attraction I had to him was dangerous.

“Dinner’s ready,” I said in a gruffer voice than I’d intended. I cleared my throat. “I didn’t know if you’d want to get up or sleep through.”

He turned on his side, not taking his eyes off me. The towel opened just enough to show me the furred expanse of his inner thigh. I wondered if I fainted from lack of oxygen whether or not I could pass it off as travel-related sickness.

My eyes blinked back to his. Again, he held them longer than expected before speaking.

“I’m definitely up.”

The tone in his voice seemed odd, and I couldn’t help but glance back down at where the towel was open. I’d only intended to get another peek of his creamy skin, but this time I noticed the tent in his towel. In addition to realizing he was hard, I also noticed how it had opened the towel even more, giving me a much more intimate view.

“Shit. Yeah. Uh. Sorry.” What the fuck was wrong with me? I didn’t stutter like a child or apologize for… looking straight ahead. “Anyway. Dinner. Or whatever. Up to you.”

I stood and turned fast enough that I could pretend he wouldn’t have been able to catch the fact I was hard too. The last thing I needed was his ego growing any larger.

Waking up hard from a nap was one thing. Getting hard while creepily staring at your sleeping… business colleague was a different thing altogether. One was normal. One was actually creepy.

Messing with an asset was against the rules. Which didn’t matter since I was not going to be attracted to the conniving criminal whose sole purpose seemed to be tempting me into forgetting myself.
