“Are the carrots stinky?” she asked, holding the other half to her nose. It smelled just like a carrot. Lalani popped it into her mouth and chewed. Tasted like a carrot.

Khadar grabbed her hand and lifted it to his nose. He sniffed her fingers. “Is there something you want to tell me, Princess?”

“No? I forgot to wash my hands before dinner?” she guessed.

“No, Lalani. Did you touch yourself while I was gone?”

“Oh! Just when I went to the bathroom,” she lied.

“So, when I take down your pants, I’m not going to find you slick and aroused?”

“Well, now you will. You’re talking about it. My body is reacting.”

“Let’s see.”

Grasping her waist, he lifted Lalani into the air to press his nose against her mound. “You are very definitely turned on, Princess. But wait.”

He turned her slightly to press his nose to the side of her thigh. “I can smell your juices here, Lalani. On the same side as the hand you caressed yourself with. Want to change your story?”

She shook her head automatically.

“Hmmm. It’s too bad baby monitors don’t work anymore. I could just watch the replay.”

Khadar sat her back on his lap and helped himself to a large portion of potato salad. “This is my favorite. Would you like to try it?” he asked, holding a bite to her lips.

Lalani accepted the bite and chewed as she watched his face. Was that it? He was going to accept her word for it.

When Khadar didn’t bring it up but chatted about things going on in Wyvern, Lalani relaxed. She’d gotten by with it.

“I cleaned my toys up and made my bed when I woke up,” she announced proudly.

“What a wonderful Little one you are, Princess. We will go up to the nursery after dinner and count all your points. Do you think you’ll earn a reward today?”

“Yes, Daddy. I know I will.”

He nodded and offered her another bite of yumminess. When her stomach was full, she leaned against his broad chest. She didn’t think she’d ever get used to how much food Khadar ate. Looking sneakily toward his trim waistline, she couldn’t see an ounce of extra weight on him. His dragon form must require a ton of calories to keep him functioning. Lalani knew he raised livestock for a reason. A dragon needed a steady supply of nourishment.

Chapter 10

By the time they finished dinner, she’d forgotten about getting caught. She slipped her hand into Khadar’s as they walked to the nursery. Skipping with happiness as he concentrated completely on her, Lalani realized she’d never been a man’s complete focus. She hadn’t dated much, but phones, messages, and other people had always distracted her date. Khadar was one hundred percent engaged with her. She liked it a lot.

“Look what a great job you did in here. I am very impressed, Princess. Let’s look at your board. You get a check mark for putting away your toys and one for making your bed after your nap.”

He marked those off and hesitated. “Unfortunately, lying to your Daddy removes all the check marks and replaces them with Xs.” He set down the green marker and picked up the black one. He crossed out the two at the bottom as well as the earlier ones that she’d earned.

“But I got up without complaining this morning, Daddy. And I drank all my morning water!”

“Lies erase everything.”

He looked at the chart and counted up the negative marks. “You’ve earned a very severe punishment today, Princess. Do you have anything you want to tell me?”

“Okay. I rubbed my fingers through my… Private area before wiping my fingers on my thigh. But, I didn’t do it for long. I didn’t make myself come. The rule is my pleasure belongs to you. I stopped.”

“Thank you for telling me the truth, Lalani. I bet that makes you feel better,” he said as he stripped her shirt off.

“Wait. I don’t still get punished, right? I told you the truth.”

“Oh, yes. Confessing to a lie helps me trust you’ve learned your lesson. It doesn’t wipe away your naughtiness,” Khadar told her as he knelt on one knee in front of her to slip off her shoes and leggings. “Dragons have certain abilities.”

“Like your sound blast?” She looked toward the headphones that hung on a hook by the door.

“Exactly. That’s a green dragon’s special power. Other colors have unique talents. All dragons, however, have one skill they share.”

“Shifting?” she guessed.

“Yes, but more than that. We all know when someone is lying. We can smell it.”

“All lies?” Lalani checked and swallowed hard.

“All lies. Small ones and big ones.”

“So, you know I told the truth when I told you I stopped and didn’t… Well, I didn’t make myself come.”

“Yes. I know that’s the truth, Princess. Thank you for making the right decision.”

“Oh, good. So, my punishment won’t be too bad, right?”
