“Thank you,” she whispered.

“You’re welcome, Zara. I’m glad to help hang your picture. I’m happier to have you here with me,” Kestrel assured her.

“I’m happiest to be here, too. Could you do me a favor?”

“Probably…? But I’m not going to take you for a helicopter ride for a while.” He looked at her cautiously. “Is there something else you’d like me to do?”

“Make love to me, Daddy?”

“That I can very definitely do.” Kestrel smiled as he walked forward. Leaning over, he wrapped his arms around her waist and draped her over his shoulder.

As he carried her inside, the elevator dinged, and Hawking and Celeste emerged. Zara waved to her friend and then grinned when Celeste gave her a thumbs up.

Chapter Thirteen

Kestrel carried her straight to the large bed she already loved to sleep in. Leaning over, he lowered her bottom to the mattress, then plucked Coco from his place on the pillow.

“Coco isn’t old enough to see what I plan to do to you. I’ll set him on the dresser,” Kestrel told her as he walked away.

“Um,” Zara protested when he set the monkey down, facing them. She twirled her finger, and he nodded.

“Good idea.”

When Coco faced the wall, Kestrel walked slowly toward her. Reaching over his shoulder in a delicious display of muscles, he pulled his Danger Bluff polo over his head and tossed it to the side. His focus rested squarely on her.

Zara sat up to take her shirt off and froze at his, “No way, Little girl. I get to unwrap my present myself.”

“Present?” she squeaked.

“Oh, very definitely,” Kestrel assured her as he unfastened his pants and pushed his slacks over his hips and down to the floor. Stepping out of his shoes, he leaned forward to tug off his socks without ever losing eye contact with her. He stalked forward in his tight boxer briefs that left nothing to her imagination.

Kestrel rested one knee on the bed as he brushed her hands away from the hem of her shirt. He pulled it slowly over her head. Zara could feel his gaze roaming over her skin. He’d seen her naked repeatedly, but she understood that, this time, he would make her his completely.

He smiled as he lowered his gaze to her chest, and his smile broadened as he used one finger to trail along the edge of her lacy bra. “I love this blue. It makes your eyes pop. How many sets of sexy lingerie do you own, Little girl?”

“A lot. I guess bra-and-panty sets are my guilty pleasure.”

“Not complaining.” He dipped his head and nuzzled between her breasts before dragging his tongue along the edge of the lace.

Zara grabbed his waist and arched her chest as a soft moan escaped her mouth. Every time he touched her, it felt so good. She came alive. It felt like she’d known him much longer than reality. And the way he looked at her…

She couldn’t quite describe how his gaze lit her on fire. It was reverent and filled with deep sincerity. He never looked at her like every man she’d seen in her life. His look didn’t make her feel objectified.

When his tongue slid under the edge of the lace to flick her nipple, she whimpered. “Daddy…”

He rose onto his knees and held her gaze while he unbuttoned her jeans before dragging them and her shoes off her body.

His grin widened as he hovered once more, his gaze locked on the matching panties. With his usual reverence, he trailed a finger across her stomach just above the lace. “Your skin… It’s so soft.”

Curiosity made her slide her palms up his chest while she asked, “You said sleeping with me would be a first for you, too. Surely you didn’t mean…” She let her voice trail off, words failing her.

He gave her a sweet kiss. “I meant that I’ve never had sex with anyone other than in a casual relationship. Never with anyone I knew was my Little girl. Never with anyone I knew I wanted to spend the rest of my life with. I had girlfriends and a few partners when I was younger, but it’s been a very long time since I’ve taken a woman to my bed.”

“But why? You’re so sexy and…well, perfect.”

He grinned. “I’m far from perfect, Little Swan. If you asked any of my recent girlfriends, they would tell you I was too nice.”

“Too nice?” Her voice lifted. “How is that a thing?” She had so little experience with men. She suddenly wished she’d at least had close girlfriends who would have filled in some of the holes in her knowledge. She’d never even participated in the kind of banter she knew girls whispered among themselves.

Kestrel continued to stroke her skin with a fingertip while he spoke. “Women see me—the muscles, the tattoos, and my size—and expect me to be Dominant. And I am. I’m extremely Dominant but not in the way they expect.”
