“Yes, but I know you. What is to say you won’t dip your toes back into our world when you learn the truth? This is your mother, my daughter, we are talking about.”
“I’m confused. Why ask this of me if you don’t want me to handle it my way?”
“That’s not what I’ve said. This is why I wanted to talk to you face to face. I already know what you will do. I just wanted you to know it’s your one pass. I’m not going to go back on my word when you do what you do.
“I will hand Vander over to your friend myself. This thing you say he can do. I think that’s enough to trust him in my spot. You will be mayor, yes?”
