Ian laughed. “You’re shameless.”

“Only because you let me get away with it,” Miles said with a smile, looking Ian in the eye. He felt so comfortable around Ian, the way he felt comfortable only with his brothers, though the comparison was… gross, all things considered.

Fuck, maybe he needed a therapist. There must be something wrong with being attracted to a man who had such similar mannerisms to his own eldest brother. Freud would probably have a field day with him.

“What?” Ian said, ever so perceptive.

Mike pulled a face. “I just realized that it’s pretty messed up that I can be attracted to a man who shares so many common traits with my eldest brother.”

Ian didn’t laugh at him. He seemed to actually consider it seriously before speaking. “I think I’ve read somewhere that women often end up marrying men who resemble their fathers, and men often end up marrying women who remind them of their mothers. It doesn’t mean anything gross. If you love someone, you normally think their traits are good and attractive. Didn’t you say Zach practically raised you?”

Miles nodded, more than a little relieved. That made sense. It was good to know that he wasn’t secretly into incest or anything gross like that. Zach had just apparently brainwashed him into thinking that an overbearing attitude was a good trait in a man.

“I think… I think the fact that you share some personality traits with Zach is why I feel so comfortable around you. But it’s separate from sexual attraction. Maybe the fact that I feel so comfortable with you just makes me relax and actually feel the attraction without wanting to flee?” Miles chuckled, a little self-conscious. “I’m not making a lot of sense, am I?”

Ian smiled slightly. “You rarely do.”

“Hey!” Miles said with an exaggerated pout.

Ian smiled wider, tapping Miles on the nose with his finger. “You’re lucky you’re so endearing, or I would have fired you a long time ago for sexual harassment.”

Miles grinned at him. “Are you saying you won’t fire me if I actually put my hand up your shirt? I really want to put my hand up your shirt.”

Ian looked at the ceiling. “I don’t know why I put up with this.”

“You like me,” Miles said, his grin widening when Ian didn’t deny it.

“You’re amusing, I guess,” Ian said.

“You like me; don’t you deny it,” Miles said, pushing Ian’s shirt up to look at his abs. He whistled a little. “Nice.”

“I’ve never felt so objectified in my life,” Ian said wryly. “You want to cop a feel? Don’t be shy.”

Miles laughed and did just that. He stroked Ian’s flat, muscular stomach, fascinated by the warmth and firmness and texture. His fingers traced the hard muscles before moving to the trail of dark hair that disappeared into Ian’s fly. He wet his dry lips.

“Would it be too weird if I put my mouth here?” he said, stroking Ian’s happy trail. He felt Ian’s muscles twitch under his touch.

“You’re unbelievable.”

Miles lifted his gaze and gave a sheepish smile. “Am I?” he said, looking into Ian’s eyes. Fuck, even after a month of exposure, Ian Caldwell’s gaze remained incredibly hard not to be drawn into. Being around him always felt like a gravitational pull. “Sorry. This is just so new to me—actually wanting to touch someone. I’m probably being a weirdo about it.”

Ian’s expression became somewhat pinched. “For fuck’s sake, stop making that face.”

“What face?” Miles said, cocking his head.

Ian’s jaw clenched. “The one you were making. Fine. Go ahead. I’ll be your lab rat.”

Miles beamed at him and gave a quick peck on the cheek. “You’re the bestest best boss ever! I take back all the mean thoughts I had about you when I was your PA.”

Ian just snorted.

He leaned back against the couch and watched Miles drop to his knees in front of him. “Christ, this is weird,” he said, fixing his gaze on the ceiling again.

Miles laughed, but when he pressed his mouth against Ian’s stomach, his amusement disappeared.

The skin against his lips was so warm and smooth that Miles had to kiss it. He trailed his parted lips all over Ian’s abs, his eyes slipping shut. He rubbed his face against Ian’s happy trail, nearly moaning at the onslaught of sensations, his tongue darting out to taste the skin. Although he felt the muscles jump and stiffen under his touch, Miles wasn’t prepared for the hissed sound that left Ian’s mouth.

Opening his eyes and looking down, he found a bulge stretching Ian’s jeans.

Slowly, Miles lifted his gaze.

Ian was looking at him with an expression that was halfway between rueful and amused. He shrugged. “Any red-blooded man will get a little hard from being touched like that.”

Miles looked at the bulge in Ian’s jeans. “You call this a little hard? Way to make a guy self-conscious.”
