“Julian,” she gasps, and releasing my neck, she places her hands behind her on the piano, which gives me a perfect view of her breasts. My eyes drift down her body, and I watch as I drive back inside her. The sight is unbelievable, and it pushes me over the edge.

My hips keep moving as I find my release, and needing Jamie to orgasm again, I slip a hand between us and begin to rub hard on her bundle of nerves.

Her hands buckle from under her, and she falls back on the wood, arching her back as her body tightens with release.

My movements slow as I stare at Jamie while she comes down from her orgasm.

“Do you have any idea how fucking breathtaking you look right now.”

She tries to chuckle while catching her breath.

“I could make love to you all day long,” she says as she pushes herself back up into a sitting position.

“That’s the plan for after dinner.” Lifting my hand to the back of her neck, I pull her face to mine and press a tender kiss to her lips. “Time for that piano lesson now.”

Jamie

After leaving Trinity, we stopped at the store so I could get some feminine products.

I’ve just finished unpacking everything, and while Julian returns a business call he missed, I decide to phone Della and Carter.

“Hey, I was just about to call you,” Della answers. “How are you?”

“I’m doing much better. How are you, and Carter, and the kids?” I ask quickly before Della asks more questions.

“We’re well. Danny’s excited for her new little brother to make his appearance, and I have to admit I’m way past the point of ready for him to come now.”

I hate that I’m not going to be there for Tristan’s birth.

“I wish I could be there,” I express my thoughts.

“Me too,” Della murmurs. “Have the police said anything new about the case?”

Do I tell Della?

I decide not to, wanting to spare her the distress of something that’s in the past now.

“They think Henry left the state,” I say so she’ll stop worrying about him.

“Really?” She lets out a breath, then asks, “How do they know, though?”

“Detective Olsen didn’t go into specifics, but he seemed pretty sure I’m no longer in danger. Julian still has personal guards for me, so you don’t need to worry.”

“That’s a relief, then.” Pausing for a moment, I hear her yell at Danny to stop jumping on the couch, then she asks, “How’s school? Have you managed to catch up on all your work?”

“It’s going well. Lake is helping me with my assignments.”

“That’s nice of him.”

Knowing I’ll have to tell her at some point, I decide to just go for it. “I’m not staying at the dorms any longer.”

“Why? Where are you staying now?” I can hear the apprehension in her voice.

“I moved in with Julian.”

“Oh…” she lets out a sigh. “You had me worried there for a moment. I thought you moved into an apartment on your own.”

Frowning, I ask, “So you don’t mind that I’m living with Julian?”

“No, why would I?”

“Oh, I just assumed you’d be upset or think it’s too soon.”

“Jamie, you’re levelheaded, and I trust you to make the right decisions. If you care that much about Julian, then go for it. Your happiness is all that matters to me.”

I sit down on the armchair, feeling relieved that Della is okay with it all. “How do you think Carter’s going to react?”

“Ask him yourself. He’s standing right here.”

“What? No! Wait!”

I freeze as I hear Della handing the phone to Carter.

“Hey, Jamie,” his voice comes over the line, and it has me grinning sheepishly even though he can’t see my face.

“Hey, Carter. How are you?”

“Good. I wanted to ask whether I should send the private jet for you on Friday. Della’s scheduled to be induced then, and I thought you’d want to be here.”

I didn’t even think of that. “That would be awesome.”

“Great, I’ll let you know the time.” He pauses for a moment then asks, “So what’s this about you and Julian?”

Slumping back in the chair, I cover my eyes with my other hand. “We moved in together.”

“You did? Hmm…”

Sitting up straight, I ask, “What does hmm mean?”

“Just me thinking.”

I scowl at his answer. “Don’t you approve of my relationship with him?”

Just as I ask the question, Julian comes to stand in the doorway and leans against the jamb.

“I didn’t say that. Even though I wanted to punch him a couple of times, it’s clear he cares about you. I’m just worried that you’re moving too fast with everything that’s happened.”

My eyes meet Julian’s as I say, “I’m sure of my feelings, Carter.”

“Then there’s nothing more to say on the matter. Like Della said, the only thing that counts is your happiness.”

“Thanks, Carter.” I let out a sigh and relax again.
