“News?” I ask, looking up at her face.
“I’m pregnant.” I pause. We’ve been trying for years and nothing. I didn’t think it would happen again. “Say something.”
“Holy shit, baby. I’m so happy.” I am. This is the greatest news. “When did you find out?”
“About three minutes ago. I wasn’t sure, so I didn’t want to say anything, but I’m late. The word pregnant popped up so fast.” I get out of bed and rush over to her. Pulling her into my arms, I kiss her.
“Fuck, baby. You’ve made the happiest man in the world.”
Joining July… rescuing July really was the best thing I’ve ever done. I love her more than I ever thought possible and that grows every fucking day. I know I’m the luckiest man in the world and I’d never do anything to change that.
