Tripp hung up and rolled his eyes. Jayme smirked.

“I know of another way to relieve your stress in the meantime,” Tripp said with a devilish grin.

His cock stirred at the hint Tripp was giving. He cocked an eyebrow at his boyfriend. “Is that so?”

“Mmm hmm.” Tripp hummed. “Why don’t you come upstairs and let me show you.” Tripp stood and left the kitchen, without waiting for him.

He shot up from his chair and hurried after Tripp.

CHAPTER TWELVE

Tripp

TRIPP AND Jayme got into their truck, after a call about an injured raccoon. They couldn’t find the animal and told the lady who called to call them back if she sees it again. Jayme just pulled away from the curb, when his phone started ringing. He looked at the screen before answering the call and putting it on speaker.

“Hey, Mal. What’s up?”

“I just got back from the doctor’s office. I got the results of the paternity test.”

“Took them long enough. It’s been almost three weeks,” he muttered. “And?”

“You’re the father, just like I said,” she said in a “I told you so” tone that made Tripp want to reach through the phone and punch her.

“Okay then. I’m gonna stop by on my way home from work to get a copy of the paperwork from you.”

“Does it have to be today?” she asked, sounding a bit hesitant.

“Yeah. Tripp and I leave tomorrow morning for our trip. I want to see the papers before we leave.”

“Trip to where? I didn’t know you were going away.”

“That’s because you’re not on my “needs to know” list anymore. We’re going to Hawaii for a week.”

“Hawaii? What the fuck? You never took me anywhere, but here you are going away with your fucking boyfriend to Hawaii. You barely know each other.”

“What better way to get to know someone better than to spend a romance filled week with them in Hawaii?” Jayme grinned.

Tripp covered his mouth to quiet his chuckle.

“You’re an asshole, Jayme. I hate you.”

“And now you’re stuck with me forever.”

She grumbled something under her breath that Tripp didn’t catch.

“See you around six,” Jayme said.

“Fine. Bye.”

Mallory hung up, and Jayme glanced over at Tripp; who was smirking.

“It is going to be romantic, you know,” Jayme said, sending him a wink.

“Mmm, I can’t wait. How you feelin’ about the whole “being the father” thing?”

Jayme shrugged. “I don’t think it’s going to feel real until the baby is here.”

He nodded. “I can understand that.”

“I guess I’m a little excited now that I know for sure.”

“That’s good.” He smiled.

“How do you feel about dating a man who’s having a baby?”

“I like kids. So, I’m fine with it. Doesn’t bother me at all. I mean, I wish it wasn’t with that manipulative bitch, but hey...” He shrugged.

Jayme nodded in agreement. “Tell me about it.”

They came to a red light, and Jayme leaned over the center console and puckered his lips. Tripp snorted, and gave Jayme the kiss he was looking for.

“You’re the best,” Jayme said fondly.

“I try.”

After work, they drove straight to Mallory’s house. Jayme parked the truck in the driveway, and they both got out. Tripp liked to do whatever he could to irritate her, and just being there was enough most days.

He watched Jayme, who was walking in front of him. Damn, his ass looked nice in their work pants. His auburn hair was covered with a Texas Game Warden hat. He couldn’t see Jayme's eyes, but he knew that in the sun the gold in them showed more. The man was all around gorgeous. He had fallen head over heels in love with him.

Jayme rang the doorbell, then tucked his thumbs in the sides of his outer-carry vest as he waited for Mallory to answer the door. A minute later the door opened, and Mallory is standing there looking annoyed. Her dark hair is piled in a messy bun on top of her head, and she was wearing jeans and a tank top that showed off the little baby bump that she was sporting.

“What? Are y’all joined at the hip or something? He couldn’t have waited in the truck?”

“His name is Tripp, and he’s standing right here,” he said dryly.

Mallory turned a glare on him. “I know your name, you damn fool. I chose not to use it.”

“All right.” Jayme interjected. “Where’s the paper?”

Mallory lifted her hand and waved the paper around before shoving it into Jayme’s hand. Jayme made an impatient noise and straightened out the now crumpled paper. He watched Mallory as Jayme read it over. She looked...nervous? Which was odd. What did she have to be nervous about?

“Are we good?” she asked.

Jayme nodded, and folded up the paper before sticking it in his pocket. “Yep.”

“The next ultrasound is in a couple of weeks if you want to come. We can find out the sex if the baby cooperates.”
