“God, be careful eavesdropping on them. You could get in so much trouble.”

“Don’t I know it.”

“Is that where you’re at? Charlie’s?”

“No, but you get in here and ask for Sarge and they’ll send you to where I am. I’m at their temporary headquarters. They keep movin’ to stay under radar.”

Rider Valentine told me to stay away from the Dominion Brotherhood. From their clubhouses, from their members. He exiled me. He wouldn’t even let me pay my respects at Lick’s funeral because my association with Kailey and how what she was involved in got Lick killed, already nearly got his sister Jojo killed. But I needed to get word to them because if they got to her in New York, she’s as good as dead. And it wouldn’t be a clean death. It’d probably be even uglier than what they did to Edge’s girlfriend.

I know the Wyld Jackals nearly killed Rider not long after that. One of their prospects got beat up badly and rumor was that he was a pretty boy that a couple of the guys butt-raped. Another of their prospects got shot. Deacon’s new girlfriend got kidnapped and she’s related to some Jackals, and they didn’t even care about that. The list of Jackal crimes against the Dominion Brotherhood was long. I needed to warn them. Make sure they protect Jojo and those other girls.

“Kailey, you need to get out of there. You-”

“Oh! Got to go. Call you later. Get to Charlie’s, to Sarge,” she whispered and then the line was silent.

I stared ahead, unseeing, and my stomach soured in a way where I knew I couldn’t rest until I warned people. Getting ahold of someone in the brotherhood might be a challenge, I lost my phone and all my numbers in it. But I had to find a way. I knew where their new clubhouse was. I’d been there once when they first moved there for a party. But I wasn’t sure I had enough gas to get there.

Jesse James Garcia

Her throaty voice wrapped around my cock. After the voice, the next thing I noticed was the hair. Enough wavy blonde hair to wrap around my fist multiple times; it grazed her lower back-dimples.

My gaze traveled from her tiny, exposed waist down to her peach-shaped leather-clad ass, then back up to her flawless face. But when I looked into her eyes, what I saw nearly knocked me back.

Soul-clenching agony rippled from those blue eyes. And I felt like a goddamn goner. Because I had to shake off the strange urge to soothe it away.

Prospecting involves a lot of grunt work – shit the brothers don’t wanna do sometimes; other times it’s shit they invent just to break you in or punish you for flexing attitude.

Despite the fact that I don’t tamp down my attitude with anybody, I’ve got the distinction of the quickest prospect tour in the history of the club. The leather of my cut was still not quite broken in, but I was fully patched, so news my job for the foreseeable would be babysitting a club bunny should leave me feeling like I’m taking a step backwards, being assigned grunt work. Instead of feeling like it’s something that should be given to the prospects, I was thinkin’ I might not mind. And yeah, that might’ve been initially down to the fact that she’s easy to look at. But on further thought, it’s mostly down to why she’s here.

This blonde bunny was being put under my care because my prez trusts me. I don’t take that lightly.

I’ve never met her before, but her name has come up in conversations with my MC brothers as a stray worth spending time with. And Prez just told me she’ll be spending time with me twenty-four seven until I get orders otherwise.

“Jesse, hey. Got a special assignment for ya,” Deke Valentine, the Prez had greeted, gesturing for me from where he stood at the bar with his son Spencer, the gorgeous blonde between them.

One of our prospects, Ted Bronson, better known as Bronto, was behind the bar, looking like something the cat dragged in. Not surprising after the night he had.

I was just getting my eyes open, not even a mouthful of coffee into me, lookin’ forward to a couple days of things being low key while me, Bront, and Pudge watch the clubhouse and the adjacent Valentine-owned businesses. Most of the brothers were rolling out to our mother charter a few hours away for an overnight bash and with how hectic it’d been around here lately, quiet would be a nice change.

I should say I hoped it’d be quiet, that the enemy wouldn’t rear their ugly mugs with us on skeleton crew around here. I’ve always favored quiet, but have no problem being the noise patrol if I must.
