“I can’t believe you used to enjoy these women,” I tease Jackson as we walk past them.

“Baby, when you’re alone, you take what’s easy. Never thought I was going to find you.”

“Well, aren’t you lucky you did.”

He grins.

“There you two are,” Ciara yells out when we approach. “God, I’ve never seen two people have so much sex.”

“Ciara!” Addison scoffs. “I swear to the almighty if you continue mentioning my father having sex, I’m going to come over there and throw you in the dirt.”

Ciara throws a grin in her direction. “Try it. I love a good scuffle. Not as much as our Serenity, though.”

I roll my eyes. “I was done with the drama.”

“Girl, that woman is probably traumatized for life after your little show,” Ciara giggles.

“I’m sure she’s fine,” I wave a hand. “A little head wound, nothing major.”

“You’ve got a savage side,” Spike grins. “I like it.”

“Me too,” Jackson murmurs, sitting down beside me.

“So what now?” Addison asks, crossing her legs. “I feel bored when we don’t have an abundance of drama to deal with.”

“We should do that vacation,” Janine points out. “I could use one before I’m a full-time mom to two.”

“I say a cruise,” Ciara claps her hands. “I could have fun on one of those.”

“Fuck no,” Spike mutters. “Those are a cesspool of fucking sickness.”

“Don’t be so dramatic, bestie,” Addison smiles, her voice light. “We could have so much fun on one of those. Imagine all the dancing, alcohol, and sunbathing...”

Ciara sighs. “Oh yes. I could use that kind of freedom. And the kids’ club, nobody forget the kids’ club.”

I grin. “That sounds like heaven but give me a bit longer to enjoy my daughter again before we go throwing her into a kids’ club. Right now, a beach and cocktails would do me just fine.”

“Just hold the tail,” Jackson teases.

It takes me a minute to get what he’s saying. Cocktail. Hold the tail. Animal.

“Gross, father,” Addison scoffs.

“I could do a beach,” Janine nods. “A nice house sitting right on one could work.”

“Let’s make it a plan,” Muff agrees, wrapping his arm around Janine.

“I’m in,” Addison shrugs.

“Of course you’re in, you will do anything to sunbathe,” Cade murmurs into her ear, grinning.

“You know it, baby.”

“Let’s do it then,” I say. “We can book a big house and go for a week. We all need it.”

“When does Walker get out?” Addison questions. “He deserves a holiday for all he has done.”

“Not for a while,” Jackson answers. “It’ll take a bit, but we’re confident he’ll walk.”

“I’ll be glad when he does,” I admit. “Even happier when he’s part of the club and getting his life back on track.”

“Amen to that,” Ciara nods. “Now, let’s drink while the kids are asleep and we’re finally alone without someone trying to kill us.”

We all take a drink from the cooler and hold them into the air as I say, “Here’s to no more drama, death, prisons, or people with a vendetta against us.”

They all clink their glasses, and the cool night fills with the words, “Hear hear!”

Jackson puts his arm around my shoulder and pulls me close, nuzzling my hair. “I’m fuckin’ glad you’re back, pixie. The world wasn’t spinnin’ quite right without you.”

“Aww,” I say, turning in and pressing my lips to his. “Love you, old man.”

He bites my bottom lip, and I giggle.

“Seriously, you two. Gross,” Addison yells out. “I’m going to need therapy.”

Jackson and I grin.

Finally, everyone is right where they need to be.

Happy and free.
