“Look at yourself, Cass. You look like a cheap whore. I didn’t realize you’d taken up residence on the street corner.”

“Oh, shit,” I hear Bobby grunt.

Her mouth drops in shock before the anger takes over once again. She launches forward with her arms flailing around, trying to hit me, but she can’t get to me because the headrest is in the way. A smirk crosses my face, which only has her fuming more. “Did you just call me a fucking prostitute, Jaxon Alexander Payne? And a fucking cheap one at that?”

Shit. She used the middle name. Maybe I took that one too far. “Cass,” I sigh. “You know I didn’t mean that, but look at yourself. What the hell do you think you’re doing on that pole?”

“It’s called having fun, Jaxon. Something I haven’t had since I’ve been here,” she snaps. “Besides, what’s it to you? You’re the last person I’d expect to have an issue with a girl on a pole. Isn’t that your specialty now?”

I know there’s no point in talking to her when she gets like this, so I turn on Brianna. “Has she been drinking?”

“Um, yes. How else do you think I got her to do it?” she throws back at me.

“Fuck,” Bobby groans as he searches out his sister’s eyes in the mirror. “You’ve been drinking too.”

“So what?” Cassie practically growls. “Take us home.”

“No.” I shoot back, “You’re coming with us.”

“Why? You want me to dance for your boys?” she purrs, leaning forward and draping herself over the back of my seat. “You know, despite your comments, I’m not as cheap as you think. It’ll cost them, but if they’ve got the dough, I’m willing to offer a good ride. I might even suck a dick or two if they’re lucky.”

My jaw clenches at the mere thought of Cassie getting with any of those bastards. “Fuck, Cass. We’re not taking you home because I refuse to be late for the first game of the season, especially over this shit.”

Cass and Brianna start grunting and moaning in the backseat and it’s almost comical to watch. They’re like a couple of kids throwing a tantrum. Cass peels off her high heels, tossing them around the truck and making sure to nail me in the back of the head before sliding her skirt down her hips while Brianna does the same.

Bobby and I give the girls a moment of privacy, and I’m pleased when I glance back to find them both in sweatpants and flip-flops. But they still have their little tops on. “Don’t you have a shirt to wear?” I ask them.

“We do, but there’s no point in putting them on. A cheap shirt isn’t going to keep us warm in a damn ice rink,” Cass informs me with as much attitude as she can possess, and I bite my tongue to keep from mentioning that at least the top wouldn’t be showing the whole world how perfect her tits are.

Bobby lets out another unimpressed groan. “Pretty sure I have something in the back that you can wear, Bri,” he calls over his shoulder. “I have my away jersey that Cass can throw on too.”

With that settled, we sit in uncomfortable silence as we ride the rest of the way to the ice rink. What feels like a lifetime later, we pull up in a parking space, and I hop out to grab my shit from the back. I consider lending her my away jersey, but I’m far too selfish for that shit.

Cass gets out and purposely rubs her naked stomach across my body, making me yearn for her touch once again, leaving me no choice but to ball my hands into fists and shove them deep in my pockets.

Bobby holds out the jersey for her and she reaches across me to take it from him with her tight stomach brushing past me again. I take a step back to give her more room, but really, I think the room is for me. She pulls Bobby’s jersey over her head and, looking at his name and number on her back, I’ve never wanted to tear clothes off her so damn fast.

Cass steps up to me and gives me a sweet, innocent look, placing her hand on my shoulder and stretching up onto her toes. “Have a good game, Captain,” she whispers seductively, pressing a light kiss to my cheek and turning around to meet Brianna at the front of the truck.

Bobby gives me a knowing shake of his head as we follow the girls into the ice rink. “Fuck, these two are going to be trouble,” he says. I nod in agreement, but I can’t help but watch as Cassie walks before me. A scowl sits heavily on my face as I get another look at Bobby’s jersey. It shouldn’t matter to me, but I don’t like it. It doesn’t feel right. I know she isn’t my girl, but if any chick around here was ever going to wear my jersey, it would be her.
