“But the coffee…”

He didn’t want to embarrass her, but the others would soon become aware of the pheromones her body was secreting.

She read his mind and her eyes widened. “Oh. We should go.”

They made their goodbyes in a hurry, Delilah’s rushed mannerisms drawing some concern. The brothers jested with him, recalling how pressing some matters became when they first found their mates. Christian despised feeling so exposed and resented the tedious social niceties that delayed him from taking his mate home to his bed.

“Yes, thank you for supper. Goodnight.” He quickly steered Delilah out the door, grateful that the socializing had concluded.

Taking her hand, he walked swiftly towards home. The scent of her body crawled into him, and his hardened response made each stride a trial.

“Christian, slow down.”

“Your wicked thoughts tell me you don’t want slow.” He glanced back as she skipped after him, trying to match his longer steps.

Her arousal competed with the strong scent of honeysuckle in the air and he slowed his pace. “Or is that what you prefer?” It always surprised him when he naturally set aside his pressing desires to see to her needs first. She had become his greatest priority and it was shockingly simple to put her needs before his own. “Did you want to take things slow?”

She looked up at him, the moonlight highlighting her face in a blue glow. “I want what they have.” Her mind flashed with images of the couple. Hands gripping possessively. Mouths whispering filthy secrets. Teeth biting. Lips parting. Breath panting.

He rushed forward, only to pause when he sensed how frail she was after hardly eating supper. “Perhaps we should get you home fir—”

Her lips pressed to his, silencing his concerns as his mind overflowed with dark images of everything she wanted from him. Hunger was the last of her concerns.

Lifting her off the ground, he pulled her legs around him and pressed her into the nearby wall of a barn. His hands pushed up her skirts as she kissed him passionately, her mind continuously filling his with erotic visions.

“I can give you that and more.” Loosening the front of his pants, he gripped his thick cock. “Our bond is deeper than theirs. You will see.”

She gasped when the fabric of her underclothes tore. He shoved into her and growled, claiming her body like a male possessed. Gripping his shoulders, she locked her legs around his back, and cried out.

Moonlight hit her exposed throat, the narrow column drawing his attention as his fangs punched through his gums. Grunting, he looked down at her breast, but the urge to sink his teeth into her flesh only doubled.

Harder, he bucked his hips, pulling her slight body down on his as he tried to slake his thirst, but nothing would stop the relentless craving for her blood.

“Do it,” she gasped, tipping back her head.

His stare shot to her throat with rapt attention on her fluttering pulse. “What?”

“I want you to. Just do it.”

He was beyond thinking. Drawing back, he snapped forward with perfect accuracy, piercing her delicate flesh and plunging his teeth into her artery. The rich, decadent essence flowed over his tongue and down his throat as his hips snapped forward, driving into her with possessive force, his scent marking her skin.

He’d forgotten how unique her blood was, unlike any other source. She was made for him, and as his mate, nothing would ever taste better than drinking directly from her vein.

She spiraled into a release when his ecstasy became her own. Her sex fluttered and clamped down on his hard length, gripping him like an iron fist. His seed rushed forward, spurting deep inside her womb in an explosive finish.

The force of passion had him arching back, his mouth opening on a guttural growl as her delicious life force worked through his body. Muscles twitching, he leaned his weight into her, not wanting the euphoric sensations to end. Every aftershock of her climax became his own and he shivered, licking delicately to close the puncture at her neck.

She sagged against him, sated, panting and smiling. He gently kissed her eyelids, then her nose, then her mouth. “You honor me.”

She hummed softly, still not opening her eyes. “I think you’re going to have to carry me home after that.”

“My pleasure.” But as he withdrew from her heat and righted her clothes, she stumbled. “Careful.” He caught her in his arms, lifting her to his chest, and waited for the dizzy spell to pass. “I shouldn’t have done what I did. You’re still very weak.”

Her eyes barely opened when she looked up at him, a warm burst of affection coming from her heart and warming his chest as she touched his cheek. “I’m glad you did.”

She sighed, her lashes lowering once more. Then her knees softened and she sank into his hold. His arms tightened, his panic surging. “Delilah?”
