She moans softly, though I don’t care if the whole world hears us. I bury my face between her legs, and she instantly begins to rock her hips against me, her breaths turning to pants. That’s it. I thrust my tongue into her entrance and then suck on her clit, my hands now gripping her ass and holding her to me.
“Oh, oh, Troy,” she cries out as she comes, her body pulsing around me. I don’t wait, standing and undoing my belt and pants. My cock bounces free, and I grip my length, lining up with her entrance. Then I fucking plunge into her.
“Oh my god!” Her eyes go wide, and I catch the last few moments of her pussy pulsing around my dick.
I groan out in satisfaction, thrusting into her repeatedly. “You’re mine, Liz. You need to understand that.”
She clings to me, her body braced against me as my lips find hers again. I take them possessively and without warning, giving her a taste of herself while I claim her relentlessly. Liz kisses me back with equal ferocity, matching my possessiveness with pure passion, and it’s fucking moving.
We stay intertwined, moving as one as I grow closer to my release. I slip my hand between us, rubbing her clit again. She’s exploding around me within moments, and I find myself doing the same.
Groaning, I come hard and fast, nearly collapsing onto the desk. “Fuck, you’re so good, Liz.” I kiss her again and pull away slightly, allowing her to breathe.
She takes a deep breath and then slides off my desk. “We can’t do this again.” Liz straightens herself up, rehooking her bra and buttoning up her blouse.
“What?” I say, shaking my head. “You can’t be serious?” I can’t hide the exasperation in my voice. “I told you. I’ll burn the whole fucking city down for you. I’m not letting you marry him.”
She shakes her head. “I know you would, but that would, in return, destroy everything you’ve worked to build and what my dad has built. I don’t want that for you. I don’t want my dad to lose his investments, either.”
“He’s got more than enough money,” I reason. “There are ways around this. I’m willing to go to war for you, Liz. You belong with me.”
Her face falls, but only for a split second. “Maybe that’s the truth, but again, I can’t let you do that when there’s a simpler, much less violent solution.” She shrugs her shoulders at me, and I can see the determination in her eyes.
She really thinks she’s saving me.
“I don’t want you to do this. Like I told you, you’re mine. I won’t hand you over to him.”
“Yes, you will,” she insists, standing up a little straighter, her defiant tone grating on my nerves. “You will because this is what I want.”
“You want to marry him?” I bellow. “That’s what you really want?”
Liz looks me dead in the eyes. “Yes.”
“Then get the fuck out of my office,” I growl, hiding the searing pain shooting through my chest. “Go.”
CHAPTER 23
Liz
“So… what is this party for?” Beth asks me while munching on a handful of cashews. “I mean, I just don’t understand why you can’t take me with you.”
“It’s just… it’s just a business thing,” I say, meeting her eyes in the full-length mirror of my apartment bedroom. “It’s not a big deal.”
“Right, well, you look nervous as hell.” She narrows her eyes at me, but I ignore it, taking in the sight of my tight red dress. It’s low cut, showing off some cleavage, but not over the top. The deep red hue matches my lips, and my hair is done half up. I look good, but it still feels so wrong.
At least I’ll meet him tonight.
I chew the inside of my cheek and glance down at my left ring finger. There’s no ring there yet, but there will be after this evening once the deal is official.
Ugh.
“So, whatever happened to that guy messaging you when we went dress shopping?”
“Um, nothing really,” I lie, the thought of Troy utterly painful. I hated telling him I wanted to marry Vitali, but after many long discussions with my dad about keeping the Rossi family and him safe, I couldn’t give in to my desire to be with Troy. To want to be with him, regardless of the cost, is just selfish. However, the pain of his rejection still stung. He was nowhere in sight every day I came to work after that.
“Eloping was fun,” Beth says when I don’t offer more information about the guy. “We went to Niagara Falls. It was so romantic. I think everyone is kind of pissed at us, but we’re going to have a reception later. You’re going to come, right?”
I nod. “Of course. I wouldn’t miss it.” I swallow the jealousy welling up in my chest. This time, it’s solely for her freedom to marry the person she loves without worrying about so many other things.
