Either way, Claire kept me on my toes.

I pulled her clit into my lips and sucked hard. She screamed as she shook all over the bed, but I didn't stop. As she was settling down, I pressed my finger against her rosebud and started tonguing her pussy lips again.

"Oh."

She sighed in pure bliss as I fingered her asshole and licked her clit. She was coming again in no time. I decided she needed one more for the road.

After all, my woman deserved the best.

Her big test was tomorrow. She had protested when I led her to the bedroom that she needed to study. I had countered that she needed rest. And this was the best way to guarantee that she’d sleep like a baby tonight.

I would drive her in the morning so she could review the huge stack of index cards she’d prepared for the trip. I was incredibly proud of her. Nobody worked harder than my woman. I had no doubts that she would ace her test.

And I had no doubt that I would be going to bed horny as fuck. Didn’t matter, though. I just needed to take care of her.

I grinned as her body arched off the bed for the third time. She had no idea how much I loved that. The view from between her thighs was incredible. I could see every inch of her. Nothing was better.

I kept working her until the tremors stopped. I leaned back and looked her over, deciding whether I should go for orgasm number four. Her eyes were halfway closed already.

I pressed a kiss to her forehead and left the room to let her sleep. I needed a cold shower, and my phone had been off for the past few hours.

The Raiders were taking much more fucking time than expected to whip into shape. I had to check into the clubhouse every damned day. Add that to my job working security with Cain, taking care of my woman, fixing up my house and Ellie’s . . . and well, I was a busy ass boy these days.

I softly closed the bedroom door and went to the hall bathroom to clean up. The master shower was completely renovated, but I didn’t want to take the chance that I might wake Claire.

Thankfully, the water was icy cold in this bathroom, too.

I stepped under the freezing blast and waited for my hard-on to subside.

Chapter Thirty-Three

Preacher

“You want anything else with that?” the waitress asked, chewing on the eraser of her wooden pencil, leaving no doubt in my mind that what she was offering wasn’t on the menu. I shook my head, having no interest. I hadn’t even noticed other women after I first saw Cynthia.

How could I? She was so special, so beautiful, that she absolutely blew my mind. Even more astounding was the fact that she had somehow found it in her gorgeous, extremely generous heart to love me, too.

I pulled out my phone to text her before I got back on the road.

About three hours left.

Did you eat?

I grinned. My woman fussed over me. I loved it when she did that.

Yes, woman. Did you?

She sent me an emoji of a smily face rolling its eyes. She was pregnant again and in the throws on morning sickness. Of course, in her case, it came at all hours of the day.

Do not mention food.

Sorry babe. Kiss the kids for me.

I will. Ride safe.

I will. I love the fuck out of you.

I know. I love the fuck out of you, too.

I chuckled. It still made me laugh when my woman cursed. She had been a Sunday School teacher when we met, and she still talked like one. Most of the time, anyway. When we were in bed, she didn’t hold back. I loved it when my woman talked a little bit dirty.

I paid the bill and slid out of the vinyl covered booth seat with my helmet. I’d learned to ride a lot safer after falling in love. My life before Cynthia was a series of hangovers, bar fights, living on the edge of survival, and epically stupid missteps. But since her . . . it was pretty much heaven. Not to mention our kids that filled up all the places in my heart I hadn’t even imagined existed.

I had too much to live for to risk losing it all.

I got back on the road, just barely going over the speed limit. I wasn’t willing to follow the letter of the law, exactly, but I knew it was safer to stay at a reasonable speed. And I was in a hurry to get home to my wife and family.

Life, as Cynthia liked to remind me, was a balancing act.

Chapter Thirty-Four

Claire

“Surprise!”

I smiled nervously as Hunter guided me into the Mason Jar, a local barbecue joint owned by his friends Mason and Michelle. I was introduced to the crowd, one by one, along with Gran.
