I head to bed with a swirling washer of different emotions. Questions linger at the edge of my mind as I drift into sleep, curled around the spare pillow that is a poor substitute for the warm body of a willing woman.

When an arm slides around my waist from behind, I stir in the darkness. “Ellie?” my sleep-addled self murmurs, and she chuckles lightly behind me.

“You were waiting for me?” she whispers.

I twist in her arms, coming into wakefulness. Her eyes are sparkling, even in the darkness, as my gaze rakes over her mussed hair and delicious state of undress.

My asshole brothers.

Is this what’s been going on behind my back? Nighttime bed swapping with our sexy stepsister. And I’m the last to experience the fun. It’s not fucking fair!

“What can I say? I’m the eternal optimist,” I smile, using my fingers to push Ellie’s curls back from her pretty face.

“That and your brothers are terrible at keeping a secret,” she says.

“They didn’t tell me, but Colby’s humming and Micky’s shifty expressions were revealing.”

“Colby was humming?” The brightness of Ellie’s smile makes me laugh.

“Yes. I was as surprised as you.”

“I must have done something right.”

“I’m sure you did everything right.”

“So confident in my sexual abilities,” she laughs, swatting my arm, and God, I love how she looks with her pretty curls spread over my pillow and her peachy skin fresh and dewy.

“Have you not learned yet? Men are simple creatures. If you’re willing and make the right noises, we are as happy as can be.”

She brings her lips close to my ear. “We can’t make any noise, Sebastian, unless you want your dad in here giving you pointers on what Colby could do better.”

“Fuck,” I mutter, shaking my head before I snort. This girl is not only pretty as a picture, but she sees it all clearly too.

“We might be triplets, but our similarities are only skin deep. You must have worked that out by now.”

“I have,” she says, stroking my face. “Micky wears his heart on his sleeve. Colby puts everything in neat boxes and keeps them tightly shut, and you use laughter as a defense mechanism.”

“Defense, or maybe just a tool to diffuse. You know I don’t like it when a conversation gets heavy.”

Ellie shrugs, and I feel she likes her original idea better. Who the fuck knows why I always turn to humor? Maybe it’s just my character. Maybe it’s because I had two serious brothers, and the family needed someone to be the fun one. We’re all shaped by the other people in our lives and chiseled by our experiences.

“You don’t always need to be the fun one,” she says, reading my mind. “Like now. You don’t need to make me laugh. This doesn’t have to be anything other than the two of us making each other feel good.”

It’s not until she says those words that I realize how braced I am to prove something. My shoulders are tense, and my mind is whirring over everything she’s saying and doing. I am waiting to pick up tiny expressions and adjust how I respond. I guess I’ve never been aware of how much I need to mold myself around other people.

“You don’t want to laugh?” I ask, still attempting to take the seriousness out of the moment, trying to divert her eyes away from who I really am, but it doesn’t work.

“I don’t want to feel like we’re here to prove anything to each other. I just want to play. Just kiss me, Seb,” she says. “Just use that smart, funny mouth of yours like you did in the closet when you didn’t know it was me and I didn’t know it was you.”

So, that’s what I do.

I kiss my stepsister, in my bed, in the dappled moonlight that bleeds through my drapes. I use my mouth to search out her secrets, find the place Micky got to explore during our seven minutes of heaven, taste Ellie’s sweetness, and listen to her soft moans. I feel her come against my lips and I smile against her damp flesh, knowing that I made her feel as good as it’s possible to feel.

When I climb over her spent body, I expect to find her eyes closed, but she gazes at me with a wide, bright smile.

“Now it’s your turn,” she says.

My turn.

“Sit on the edge of the bed,” she instructs, her tone bossy as she slides off my mattress and kneels on the floor.

“You don’t have to…” I start to say, but she puts up her hand.

“Just do as you’re told, Sebastian.”

God, the way she says my name makes my cock kick between my thighs. When I do as she’s ordered, Ellie shuffles forward until she’s kneeling between my legs. I’ve been given head before, but never like this. No girl has ever looked at my cock so hungrily before from such a subservient position.
