Octavia relaxes into the rolls of my hips before she matches them grind for grind. I have no idea how long we dance this perfect, intricate routine, but my legs soon become as exhausted as Octavia’s, and my breathing just as irregular.

As if sensing my wish to come, Octavia squashes her knee deeper into the mattress, opening herself up for more before encouraging an aggressive rhythm that fills the air with mugginess.

“Oh…”

I take her harder and faster, loving that her chase intensifies with mine and that she’ll cross the finish line with me.

When she comes again, I bury my face into her neck, then groan through my own release. My body shakes as every last bit of my energy is dispensed into a blinding orgasm that is as physically exhausting as it is mentally.

On the verge of collapse, I still the grinds of my hips, roll off Octavia, then toss an arm over my tired eyes.

As I struggle to catch my breath, silence reigns supreme.

It is only broken when I mumble, “I should have asked for two hours.”

Octavia giggles about the breathless deliverance of my words before she rolls over to snuggle into my chest. Her exhaustive exhales tickle a handful of my chest hairs when she asks, “Was an hour not enough for you?”

After arching a brow, I stare down at my crotch—my still semi-erect crotch.

“Oh God,” she pushes out with a moan, her heart rate picking up. “Do you take something to keep it that firm? Because I’m reasonably sure no guy is meant to stay hard for as long as you do.”

I wish. Not even Viagra worked for me and my issues back in the day.

After rolling onto my hip to mirror Octavia’s position, I confess, “This apartment was staged for sale, so valuators need to price each piece of furniture so the total can be added to the contract price before execution tomorrow morning.” With a huff, I roll my eyes. “I told my valuator to give me an hour before arriving.”

“In normal circumstances, an hour would be plenty of time.” After kissing me in a way that has me believing a three-day marathon romp still wouldn’t suffice, Octavia pulls back and mutters, “But do you not still think this is a stupidly crazy thing to do? Maybe you should use the cooling-off period to your advantage and tell them the mattress was too firm for your liking.”

I take in her flushed cheeks, dilated eyes, and spent face before shaking my head. “No, I don’t. Especially not for this price tag.” I bite my tongue before confessing that I would have spent a lot more than sixteen million to reach this peak of satisfaction. Not even the thirty million dollars I bid for a lunch date with her comes close to what I’m willing to spend to keep her here, at my side, sexually sated and looking at me like I can do no wrong. “But since I requested an hour, and they kindly granted it to us even with it being late on a Saturday night, I guess we better get cleaned up before the calvary arrives.”

Loving the absolute awe in her eyes, I tap her naked backside two times, slip out of bed, then tell her to meet me in the bathroom. I want to be in a prime position to see her expression when she spots both the massive walk-in shower and the uninterrupted view of Mount Rainier.

It is nowhere near as spectacular as her face in the midst of ecstasy, but it is still an aesthetically pleasing sight I want her to remember more than the secrets I plan to share when we leave our little bubble.

CHAPTER 24

OCTAVIA

The buzz of multiple orgasms withers when Jack flashes me a playful grin before he hotfoots it to the attached bathroom. His pace is brisk but not fast enough for my eyes to lose the opportunity to appreciate the rigid lines in his back and his glorious backside.

They’re spectacular, but no matter how much my libido tries to override my head for the second time tonight, the marks slashed across Jack’s back won’t allow it. He’s marked—badly—and no matter how much I want to deny the facts, I no longer can.

Jack isn’t a random stranger’s victim. My grandfather is his monster, and I just slept with him in the sixteen-million-dollar penthouse he purchased so I’d have a safe place to get away from the demons a member of my family gave him.

Oh God. This is far worse than I could have ever imagined.

Too sickened with myself to stay put and almost certain Jack won’t want me here when he learns the truth, I yank my dress in all directions to cover my private parts, then scoot off the bed. Tears trickle down my cheeks when Jack’s playful hum projects from the bathroom. He sounds truly happy like nothing I could tell him would steal his joy.
