Me: You’re never going to believe this!
Beau: What did you step in?
I snort a laugh. I do often find ways to step right into crap. I give him a small rundown of what happened. Not a second after I send the text my phone is ringing. I answer it. It doesn’t go unnoticed that Logan is staring at me.
“Facetime.” Beau’s voice fills the inside of the plane. I pull the phone away from my ear to see my brother's face on the screen. “You got on a private plane with someone you don’t know?” Beau is trying to talk calmly, but I see the anger all over his face.
“Ahhh.” Yeah, when he says it that way it sounds bad. “Oops.”
Logan snatches my phone right out of my hand. “I’m not a stranger, I’m her fiancé.” I gasp. He did not just say that to my brother! I sit there in shock waiting for Beau to start yelling. “And who are you?”
“I’m her fucking brother, asshole. Now give my sister her phone back or…” He trails off. “Are you Logan Duncan?”
“Yes. We’re taking off.” He ends the call. “Phones have to be off until we’re in the air.” When he hands it back to me, I see he turned it off. I take it before he sits back down.
“What did you do?” I pop up from my seat.
“We’re closing the door. I’ll need you to have a seat, Miss Meyer,” Cory tells me.
“Are you changing your mind about the fiancée thing?” Logan asks. “You can still change your mind, and Cory will let you off the plane before the door closes.”
“No. Please. I want to get home to see my family for Christmas.” I swear I see a moment of regret in his eyes.
“Then I advise you to sit.”
I bite the inside of my cheek, plopping back down. I guess I was wrong about the regret thing. I pick up my glass and finish the rest of it. Cory pops back up, grabbing the now empty glass and replacing it with a fresh one as the plane starts to move.
“Seat belt,” Logan says, his tone now lazy and of course still bossy. I put it on, doing as I’m told, not wanting to get kicked off the flight. Once I see that we’re air bound and there is no way for him to get me off this plane until we land, I plan to tell this Logan guy exactly what I think of him.

Logan
“You’re a jerk.” She tilts that little chin of hers up. I am a jerk. I rather enjoy being one. Most would call me a flat-out asshole, but not Angel. I stare at her, but I don’t respond. She starts to wiggle in her chair. “That was mean. I’m sorry.” A bark of uncontrollable laughter comes from me. That’s twice now she’s gotten me to laugh.
I have been trying to be nice to her. I’m finding I don’t much care for the idea of her thinking I’m a jerk. I’m so used to being one that everything I say seems to come out wrong. She has me on edge, which is causing me to be abrupt. From giving orders instead of asking for things to dragging her on to the plane before she called me on one of the many bluffs.
I sure as hell wasn't going to kick her off the plane, but I needed her to think that I would. Again I’m an asshole. Having her walk off the plane wouldn’t work for my plan at all. Even my dick rebelled against the idea of her leaving my proximity.
I was acting out of character where she is concerned. Before I knew what I was doing I had snatched her phone right out of her hand when I heard a man talking to her. I’d quickly gotten to my feet with the phone in my hand. There had been a sudden need for me to make sure whoever was on the phone understood who I was to her.
I didn’t want them to know me as Logan Duncan. I wanted them to know me as Angel’s fiancé. Don’t even ask why because I have no clue what spurred that on. I could tell she was displeased and shocked by the look on her face, but she didn’t say anything. Yet again a weird feeling nags at me.
“You agreed you’d be my fiancé.” I shrug. Jealousy. That’s what that feeling was I felt over this tiny girl in front of me. She starts wiggling again. She does it when she grows uncomfortable. I hate that I made her feel that way, but it doesn’t override my ridiculous jealousy.
“Not a real one though. Right? We’ll be like one of those Hallmark movies where we pretend to be getting married so your family will leave you alone about finding someone to settle down with.” A smile spreads across her full pink lips. Her tongue darts out to lick her bottom lip.
