“There. I hope you like McDonald's breakfast.” She hands me back my phone.
“You ordered McDonalds?” Of course she did. My Angel isn't like any other woman I’m used to. “To be honest, I’m not sure I’ve ever had their breakfast.”
Her mouth falls open. “Now I don’t feel guilty for pretty much ordering one of everything. There is so much I need to expose you to. My poor sheltered man. How can your life be happy if you’ve never had a hashbrown from McDonalds?”
I would eat dirt off the ground if she continued to smile at me the way she is currently. She taps my chest in a playful manner. I snag her wrist.
“There are many things I plan on showing you too.” I lift her hand, kissing her palm. Her pink tongue darts out as her pretty blue eyes go wide. I feel her heartbeat start to speed up. I kiss her wrist next before freeing her hand. Only a few small words, and I can get her body going. Not my money or power. Me.
“I enjoyed what you showed me this morning.”
She has no idea the things she’s shown me too. Again that tongue of hers. I swear she’s trying to kill me. My cock is begging for me to take her to the ground and take her innocence. I need to focus, or we’ll never leave my place today.
“I wish we could spend the day in bed together.” I drop my forehead down onto hers. “The holiday party is at my parents’ estate.”
“Carey showed me a picture of that place. I’m not sure I have anything to wear. Won’t it be super fancy? If you haven’t noticed yet, I’m not really the fancy type. I don’t own a cocktail dress or gown. And I didn’t pack any dresses, thinking I was only going to be hanging around my parents’ house.”
“I actually had Kelly order some things I thought you might need. She emailed me yesterday telling me they are in the closet.”
“You got me clothes?” She slips off the counter. I follow her out of the kitchen and back toward my bedroom. Her suitcase lies on the floor near the end of the bed. “You’re lucky I know Kelly is like a sister to you or I might get jealous. Having another woman get me clothes.”
“You have no reason to be jealous. You’re my fiancé.” The word so easily slides off my tongue. She looks down at the ring on her finger.
“What about after the holidays? Are we going to…”
“We aren’t ending after the holidays.” I lean up against the closet door.
“So we’re going to keep pretending to be engaged? I live in LA.” She stands in the center of the closet, not caring about the clothes. Again her attention is on me.
“I’m still holding out hope that you’ll move in here.”
Her eyebrows lift in surprise. “You really want me to move in?” She hasn’t said no.
“Think about it.” I push off the door, going over to the other side of the closet where they hung all the clothes. Kelly didn’t hold back. I was worried she would because she thinks I’m being crazy. Maybe I am. I don’t really care. A few crazy choices and trusting my gut got me where I am today.
I grab one of the green dresses and turn back around to show her. I want her to be comfortable tonight. I know how some of these vultures can be. Especially my own mother.
“Logan. Are you hearing yourself?”
“You haven’t enjoyed waking up in bed with me?”
Her cheeks bloom pink as she ducks her head. “You know I have.” Fuck, she’s so damn beautiful it makes me chest ache. How the hell had no one snagged her up already? Too late now because she’s mine.
I put a finger under her chin to make her look back up at me. “I’m just asking you to think about it. Move back here. Back home.”
“Is my mom paying you?”
I smile. “Nope. I can just understand why she wants you back home so bad.”
“You’re way sweeter than I thought you would be.”
“Not living up to the asshole name you gave me?”
She puts her hands on my chest to slide them up and around my neck. Next she pulls me down for a kiss.
I give her more than a kiss. I am, after all, trying to convince her to stay. When we finally come up for air, we eat cold McDonald’s naked in bed.
Best damn breakfast I’ve ever had.

Angel
I close my eyes as Carey puts eye makeup on me. When I called her to ask for help to get ready for tonight, she hopped in her truck without question to get over here to me. I miss having her this close. To be honest, I miss having my friends and my family close.
