He pushed open the door and there he was, sitting alone at the far table with a partially eaten sandwich in his hand. He was staring at his tablet screen until Hart started to move toward him. Free looked up with surprise as if he wasn’t expecting him. Then a slow appreciative smile began to form on his smooth lips as his dark gaze slid up and down Hart’s body.

His boots felt as if they weighed a ton. He couldn’t believe a man as sexy as Free was up there just to see him. There were so many handsome, young, sinuous men—a few even openly gay—right there in their station who would’ve died for Free’s attention. But there he was. Those mysterious eyes eating up his every step.

Hart held his eye contact. He had to let go of his inhibitions and insecurities just like God had told him. Free had already said ‘yes’ to seeing him—the hard part, the guessing part was over. Now all he had to do was seal the deal. Make him his. He pulled out the chair beside Free and sat, turning the chair to face him. He spread his legs wide and reached over and jerked Free’s chair until he was between them. His startled expression of amusement made him feel good.

“Can you get a little closer, please?” Free teased him.

Any closer and he’d be on his lap. He figured this was okay after what they’d done earlier, “I can if you really want me to.” He smiled.

Free glanced at his mouth, licking his perfectly sized lips, “You have a great smile. Did I tell you that?”

Hart was hoping he wasn’t blushing, but the warmth under his collar told him the truth. How am I supposed to take compliments from him? “Thank you.” Was all he could think to say.

“How was practice?”

He nodded. “Okay. Repetitive, but necessary.” He watched Free pick off a few shreds of lettuce and toss them onto the wrapper. “What are you eating?”

“A chicken salad wrap.” Free shrugged, “It’s not half bad. You guys really do have the better machines.”

“Hmm.” Hart smirked. “Let me taste.”

Free chuckled lightly, “Um, sure.”

But, Hart was already going in. He gripped Free’s hand while it still held the wrap and brought it to his lips. He made sure to open wide and shoved the last three quarters of his lunch into his mouth, his lips sliding over Free’s slim fingers as he did.

He started chewing heartily as Free let out a cute little, “Heeeey.”

Hart had it devoured and swallowed in seconds, then pointed toward Free’s bottle of water already reaching. “May I?”

“Wait!” Free snatched the bottle just in time. He cracked the seal and took a small drink then handed it to him. “Sure. Enjoy.”

Hart winked and took the water, draining the bottle quickly. He checked his watch, it was almost three. Shit. “I’m sorry I don’t have much time.”

“So you decided to finish my lunch for me?” Free’s laugh was smooth and deep. Hart found himself getting tongue-tied in Free’s dynamic presence. His hand slowly came up and wiped at something moist at the corner of Hart’s mouth. He didn’t have a chance to see what it was before it disappeared between Free’s lips. He pulled his finger out slowly, his tongue grazing the tip. Watching him made his dick go from semi-hard to stone. Free knew what he was doing to him. His tone dropped, his accent less pronounced, “Mmmm. Well, it was delicious while it lasted.”

“I was testing your theory,” Hart said. He cast his eyes downward, noticing how close their faces had gotten. His mouth felt dry, even though he’d just drunk about thirteen ounces of water. He wanted to kiss Lennox Freeman so damn badly it hurt, but he knew how inappropriate it would be for him to do it in the office. He had a standard to uphold as a senior officer. He was already pushing his luck right now. He’d have to be patient a little bit longer.

“What theory?”

“You said you’d like anything my ex hated. She used to loathe that right there. Hated when I’d eat any of her food.” He laughed at Free’s confused frown.

“She hated that? So, she wasn’t a big sharer, huh?” He rolled his eyes. “This should be easy. Test all you like. Did she hate kissing, hugging, touching?”

Yes, actually. Hart couldn’t resist running the back of his hand down Free’s thigh. It flexed a little under his touch. It was right there, and he just could not stop himself. His hand trembled slightly, and he was glad Free didn’t call attention to it. He hadn’t had any intimacy in a long time. He wasn’t sure what was gonna happen between them tonight, but whatever it was, it couldn’t come fast enough. Free rested his hand on his before lifting it to his cheek.
