I kissed her as thoroughly as I did Gunnar, and when I pulled back, it was to see he had been gently smoothing his hands over her hair. His touch was tender. His look even sweeter as he stared at her.
I knew what he was going through. I felt it too.
This all felt so perfect, like we’d been waiting to connect in this way from the very start.
“What now?” she asked softly and looked down at her hands. I took one into my much bigger one and glided my fingers over her pink-painted nails.
“Look at us,” I demanded as gently as possible. When we locked gazes, I ran my thumb over her cheek. “First thing we’ll do is take a shower, and then you’ll sleep between the two of us so we can keep you warm and safe.”
Her breath hitched.
“Then, when it’s morning, I’ll make breakfast for you and Tate,” Gunnar said and leaned in to kiss her temple. “And we’ll talk about how you’d like to see the future go for the three of us.”
She looked at Gunnar, then me, and shook her head. I felt this raw, rough sensation fill me that she was denying us what both of us men desperately wanted. My jaw locked on its own, and I felt Gunnar tense beside me.
“I don’t need to talk about anything.”
I opened my mouth, not sure what I was going to say. Force the subject? Tell her there was no fucking way either of us was letting her go? I didn’t want to say something that would piss her off and ruin what we had. But the very idea of not having Sunny in my life this way felt so fucking wrong it was painful.
“What about our parents?” she asked as she stared at me.
I knew she asked in case I gave two fucks about what our parents would think.
“What about friends and family? When they find out we’re together, all we’ll get is judgment.” She looked at Gunnar. “Double when they know how many of us are involved.”
I glanced at my best friend, and together, we grinned. We talked about this when I first broached the subject with him of being with Sunny.
“Baby,” Gunnar was the first to speak. “We already talked about all of that before we decided to come after you.”
I saw her cheeks turn pink after he said those words.
“Sunny girl,” I said in a softer voice and waited until she looked at me. “We don’t give a fuck about what anyone thinks. Not friends nor family. No one. You’re ours, we’re yours, and we’re each other’s—” I nudged my head in Gunnar’s direction. “—and that's all that matters.” I smoothed a finger along her cheek until that pinkness of her embarrassment faded. “And although Gun and I talked about it, we want to talk about it with you. We want to make sure you’re okay with it.” I wasn’t the kind of guy who cared about what anyone thought or said. If they disrespected me, I solved it by putting them in their place.
But this was a forever type of situation, and I wasn’t about to push my girl into something she was unsure about.
I didn’t say anything else, and neither did Gunnar, as we waited for her to respond. She was quiet, but it was clear by her expression she was thinking—and doing it pretty fucking hard.
She finally let out a little exhale and told us, “Like I said, I don’t need to talk about it, because I know what I want, and that’s the three of us to be together.” She looked between me and him. “And I don’t give a shit about what anyone says either. If they don’t like what three consenting adults do together, then that's a them problem, not an us problem.”
It instantly felt like a huge weight was lifted off my shoulders, and when I looked at Gunnar, I could see the relief in his eyes.
“Atta girl,” he praised.
“That’s our girl,” I said after him.
I was the first to kiss her, then Gunnar did the same, then he and I went for each other.
“We’re gonna have to talk about this camgirl side-gig, baby girl,” our man said, and I grinned.
We both looked at Sunny to see her reaction.
“Maybe we will,” she said and gave us this sly little smile. “And maybe we won’t.”
I chuckled. Our kitty was a spunky little thing, but then again… her claws were one of the things we loved most about her.
EPILOGUE
KITTEN
One year later
My heart raced as I stopped at my front door and took a deep breath before exhaling.
One more look at the time on my cell told me I could make some good money if I logged in to It’s ShowTime right now.
There was this little flutter of excitement that ran through me as I unlocked the door and stepped into my place. Everything was still and silent as I dropped my bag and keys on the counter, made my way to my bedroom, and started getting undressed before I even reached the room.
