And with my baby bump showing already, I’m eating my own words about my Ethan-sized baby.

The heirloom wedding dress Ethan had restored for me, and the ancient gold bands we exchanged are exquisite. It really does make it feel like I’m stepping into his world for good.

No longer do I feel like an outsider because my ancestors are complete strangers.

Ethan makes sure I’m his for life. His forever wife as well as the mother of his children.

There’s something else I know I should really tell him, but I just haven’t found the right moment.

What with the wedding planning and all. It’s not until our wedding night, curled up in our bed not too far from where we just got married, that I figure now’s as good a time as any.

Ethan put his foot down early and insisted I not travel too far for our honeymoon.

The idea of a pregnant me on an airplane made him uneasy, but I didn’t want to go anywhere else.

Silverthorne Estate. Just home for me now, and it’s the only place I wanna be.

So honeymooning at home, like getting married at the chapel in the garden, was a natural choice.

“Anywhere you go, I go,” Ethan reminds me when I ask him once we’re snuggled up if he wants to go somewhere special for our honeymoon.

“Here’s about as special as it gets, right at home,” he says, confirming what I’ve always known.

He wants to be king of his castle, but he just never had a queen to share it with.

Ethan plays big spoon for me, his huge hands looking a little smaller these days whenever he holds them over my belly.

“He sure is big,” Ethan remarks, and I know it’s time for show and tell.

Okay, maybe just tell for now.

He’ll see his fair share when it’s time.

I know that Ethan didn’t want to know the gender until the birth.

But when I saw the routine ultrasound…

I figured I had to tell him something, so it’s not a total shock.

When the twins arrive, I mean.

“Ethan?” I ask, suddenly unsure how to even tell him. “I know you didn’t want to know if it’s a boy or a girl. But what if it’s more complicated than that?”

He looks suddenly concerned. Leaning up on his elbow, he asks me if everything’s alright with the baby.

“Everything’s fine,” I assure him, calming him down as I try and find the words myself.

“It’s just…well. What if your Ethan-sized baby was actually two babies?” I ask, grimacing a smile.

Unsure of how he’ll really take the news.

He frowns for a second, digesting what I’ve just said before he puts his hand back on my tummy.

“You mean? Twins?” he finally asks, and I smile with relief, seeing how happy he is.

He’s a little shocked but happier by the second once he realizes that we both get double the baby for our efforts.

Yay me.

If I’m this size already, I’m not sure I want mirrors in the house by the time I'm eight or nine months pregnant.

“Krissy, why didn’t you tell me?” he exclaims, bolting upright, then leaping out of bed.

Jumping around like a lunatic while he paces and fist pumps the air like a champion athlete. Making me giggle and easing any concerns I thought I might have had.

Twins mean twice as much of everything, but I can tell that Ethan only sees it as doubling down and winning all over again.

I’m surprised at how calm I am, while Ethan only seems to be getting more excited by the minute.

Kissing, cuddling, then jumping around like a little boy again, he’s so excited.

“Uh, Ethan?” I finally explain. “I’m not having them right this minute. And it is our wedding night after all,” I say, lowering my tone to as close to sexy as I think I can get.

“You wanna see the ultrasound?” I ask him, figuring it might be a while before Ethan’s actually ready for bed, let alone anything else.

Ethan stops his antics and smiles bashfully.

“Sorry, Krissy. But it’s the best news. The best news ever!” he says excitedly, re-joining me in bed as I reach for our first baby's snapshot.

Ethan turns them a few times, glancing at me for some help.

“Here’s a little girl. And here…well, that one is a secret for now, but you can see two little people there, right?” I ask him.

Ethan swells with pride, and looking at the tiny photos in his hands; he tells me just how proud he is.

“You really do amaze me every day, Krissy,” he beams, kissing my cheek.

“I knew we’d made a baby our first night, but two! You really are my lucky charm.”

“I guess we both wanted one so bad we made one of each,” I reason. “And I’m proud of you, Ethan,” I add. “You’re gonna be the world’s greatest dad, I can just tell.”

“And you’re already the best mom,” he replies.
