I smile against his lips. “For me, it was when you snatched the stick out of my hand.”
He grins. “See, me too, but I didn’t want to seem weird since you were so violent that night.”
“So, I’m weird and violent?”
“Absolutely,” he teases, kissing my top lip. “But I like that about you.”
My face hurts, I’m smiling so hard. I run my fingers along his lips and his mustache, loving the feel of him against my fingertips. “I like a lot of things about you.”
“I thought you hated me?”
“I do.”
He grins. “Thin line between love and hate is what I’ve always been told.”
The phrase leaves me breathless as I nod. “So, what happens next?”
His eyes search mine. “I should probably put you down.”
“Probably.”
“Though, I don’t want to.”
“I don’t either.” I squeeze my arms around his neck, pressing my breasts into his chest. “But I meant in general. Like, now that we’ve kissed, what happens next?”
“Whatever you want, but I really want to take you to the dance floor.” I make a face, and he grins. “Oh, we’re totally dancing.”
“I’m gonna look stupid.”
“Janie, I’m not just a pretty face. I can move my hips,” he taunts.
I sputter with laughter, because all I see is him humping the ice, at which he captures my lips with his again. I lean into him as I let my eyes fall shut, kissing him eagerly. He slides his hands up my back, threading his fingers into my hair as he holds me close. I’m the one to pull back since I can’t breathe, but he doesn’t allow me to get far. “You’re so full of yourself.”
“I’d rather be full of you.”
Breathless, I hold his face in my hands, moving my fingers along the edge of his mustache. I’m not entirely sure what he means, but I think I’ll like it. “That sounds interesting.”
“It is, Janie. It is,” he says roughly against my finger. He nips at my finger then, making me giggle. “I have a lot of questions that will more than likely make you blush.”
Of course he does, and I don’t know if I’m truly ready. I blow out a breath. “Can we wait till we’re alone?”
Dimitri’s face breaks into a grin. “Yes, if you promise we can continue what we’ve started here.”
“I feel as if that’s a loaded promise you’re asking for.” I eye him.
“Oh, sakharok, it is.”
My lips curve. “I’m scared to commit to that.”
“I would be too,” he whispers. “Because at home, no one is watching, no one can stop us, and no one can hear the sounds I will pull from you.”
I forget how to breathe. Or even form words, I guess. I just gaze at him, completely and utterly out of my mind with desire for him. Fear burns in my chest, but excitement swirls deep between my legs. “Could we take it slow?”
“Janie, I’ve waited this long just to kiss you. I’ll go at whatever speed you want from me, as long as I can have you.”
Have me.
Oh my.
“You want me?” I ask stupidly, and I don’t even know why. I know he does; I can feel his hard length on my stomach. “Sorry, that—”
“Don’t,” he demands, squeezing me once more. “Don’t apologize for what you’re thinking, or even what your curiosity has you asking.”
Why are my eyes itching? Why do I feel like I might cry?
“I want to know. I want to answer any question you ask, and I want you to feel everything.”
My breath catches. “I-I… I want that too.”
“Good. Janie, I want you so bad, I can’t even see straight. And I know for a fact I stay hard around you. I want to lose every bit of my control with you and never be found. My desire for you is far greater than I can ever put in words.”
Just what he is saying has me scared out of my mind. I want it—oh, I want it—but what if I suck at it? What if I’m awful? Does he want me tonight? Do I want it tonight?
Oh my God, did I shave my vagina?
“Austen, I can see you thinking too hard.”
I sigh deeply. “I am, because why did we wait so long to do this?”
“Because you are worth the wait,” he whispers. “I didn’t want to rush you. I wanted you to see, to feel, how wild you are for me.”
My breath hitches as I gaze into his eyes. “I knew. I was just scared you didn’t feel the same for me.”
“So, we’re adding crazy to violent and weird.”
I snort at that. “You’re a pain in my ass.”
“I am,” he agrees, “But let’s stop overthinking everything and go dance.”
I groan, and his dimple appears, driving me wild. “I’d rather just overthink.”
He threads his fingers through mine. “You do that enough. Let’s have fun.” My lips curve up, and he leans over, kissing me softly. “Now that I can do that, I’m gonna do it a lot.”
