“I’ll keep my hands to myself for now,” I grunt.

We stare at each other and then my phone rings again. “Excuse me.” I put my finger up and answer for Winston. “What’s going on?”

“I’m on my way back to the hospital. Are you still there? “Yes, but we should be done shortly.”

“I’ll be waiting in the lot.” He’s always been dependable.

“Great. I need a clean shirt at the very least please.”

“I picked you up two selections.” That’s why I keep him around.

“Great. It almost makes up for you nearly killing my Violet.” He gasps on the other end. “I’m teasing. You have great reflexes for an old man.”

“Thanks.” I end the call, tucking my phone into my pocket.

“I don’t know if you could hear him, but Winston’s already outside, waiting for us.” Her eyes drop to my lips and I swallow hard. “Be a good girl. You have no idea how close I am to turning you over that bed, ripping down your shorts and eating your pussy out before slamming into you.”

“Do you say those things to all the women you nearly kill?” The smile on her lips brings my own out.

“No, smart ass. This is a first.” I want to tell her that I never spoke to a woman like that because I’ve kept my dick in my pants all these years just for her, but I hold back.

Thankfully, I do because the nurse comes in. “The rest of the tests came back clear, but you do have some bruising, so take it easy and this is for you to take twice a day for two days. After that you can use Ibuprofen. Here’s a prescription for eight-hundred milligram tablets. Make sure to have food in your stomach before you take either of these.” She hands her a prescription bottle with a handful of tablets in it.

We sign the discharge documents and then Violet changes from the gown to slip on her shirt. I turn around because I’m not a masochist, and I don’t need my dick to hurt anymore than it already does. While she’s doing that I send Winston a text telling him we’re on our way out.

“See. I told you,” Violet reminds me. “You just wasted your money.”

I take her hand and drop my lips down on hers for a quick peck. “I don’t care. As long as you’re okay, it’s worth it.”

I’m about to pick her up, but She stops me from pulling her closer. “I’m walking or I’m going to act like you’re kidnapping me.”

“Fine.” At least she’s coming with me of her own free will, instead of me really kidnapping her, which has its merits.

I’m walking out of the hospital with my future wife. She’s going to pay for not letting me treat her like the queen she is. “So since I totally ruined your day and cost you a bunch of money can I cook for you?”

“How about you make it up to me, by letting me take you to dinner?” I already knew she didn’t have a lot of money, but I’d never let her pay for a damn thing. I’m worth billions and have no one but my mother to spend them on.

“I don’t know how that’s making it up to you, but I can’t turn away a free meal.”

I pull her upper body to me and kiss her temple. “Good to know.”

Winston meets us at the front entrance and steps outside with a small AT&T bag for Violet. “Your phone. I’m sorry about—”

“Don’t. It’s not your fault. If you didn’t react as quickly, I would have been roadkill.” I take her hand and lead her back to the limo.

Winston holds the door open and Violet slides in first. “It’s been cleaned, and your shirts are inside for you.”

“Thank you, Winston.”

“I’m afraid I gave him a heart attack earlier. He reminded me of my grandfather when I nearly broke my leg while not listening.”

“I know. Winston’s sorry that he yelled at you.” The poor man’s hands were still shaking when we arrived at the hospital. I had him checked out as well, but they cleared him pretty quickly before running around for us. At sixty, the man didn’t need a scare like that.

“He hardly yelled. It was like scolding while freaking out.”

“I know. Now that I know you’re okay, I’m tempted to take you over my knee and punish you for running into the street.” I remove the hospital robe and slip on my white tee, and then one of the dress shirts Winston brought me.

“I promise not to do it again,” she says with a pout and I stop midway of looping my button into the slit.

With a smirk, I finish buttoning my shirt. “Too bad. Maybe I’ll find another way to spank that pretty ass of yours.”

She nearly drops the phone she pulled out of the bag, but I catch it. “See, already finding a way to be over my knee,” I tease, handing it back to her.
