The feel of his hot gaze on me was nearly enough to make me come on the spot. I squirmed in my seat, needing him to do something.

“I want to taste you, Bree.”

All I could do was nod, grip the chair arms, and hold on.

Then his head was between my legs, and I jumped when I felt him lick through my folds and then softly blow on my skin, causing my entire body to shudder.

“Luke,” I pleaded, lifting my head and staring down at him. He never took his eyes off of me as he placed his mouth on me and started to lick and nibble my clit.

He moaned, and I cried out in pleasure. “Yes. Oh God, Luke, yes!”

He worked magic with his mouth, tongue, and fingers. When I wouldn’t stay still anymore, he pressed his hands on my hips, forcing me to let him take what he wanted.

“Oh God,” I panted. “I’m…so…close.”

It didn’t take long before the familiar sensation started in my toes and rushed up, unleashing an orgasm that nearly stole the breath from me.

“Luke!” I screamed out as I pushed my fingers into his hair. I couldn’t decide if I needed to pull him closer or push him away.

Ripples of pleasure coursed through my entire body until I was almost positive I’d pass out from utter bliss. Before I could fully come back down to reality, I felt Luke lift me from the chair.

“Bedroom?” he whispered.

My arm felt like it weighed a hundred pounds when I lifted it and pointed to the door on the left. Luke quickly headed in that direction and, once inside my room, gently placed me on the bed.

He leaned down and kissed me. A mixture of myself and the faint hints of alcohol on his tongue created a heady response in me. I wrapped my hand around his neck and drew him closer, deepening the kiss.

When we broke apart, I whispered, “Please tell me I’m not dreaming.”

His beautiful face stared down at me and when he smiled, it felt like the sun had burst through the small window to light up the room. “You’re not dreaming, love.”

I moved my hand to the side of his face and let out a long, slow sigh. “I’ve missed you so much, Luke.”

He closed his eyes for a moment, and then his gaze met mine. “I swear to you, I’ll never leave you again.”

“Promise?”

He dropped to his knees, and I turned on my side to look at him.

“I swear on my life, I will never walk away from you. I will never be the reason you cry again.”

My heart started to beat faster in my chest while my breath caught in my throat. I grinned. “What if they’re happy tears?”

He lifted his hand and ran his finger along my jawline and then down my throat, watching the path it took before he looked into my eyes. “Happy tears don’t count.”

“Good, because I’m so very happy right now I think I might cry.”

I felt a tear slip free and glide down my face. Luke leaned up and kissed it.

“Make love to me, Luke. Please.”

His lips found mine once again, and he kissed me so passionately there was no doubt in my mind that this man was in love with me. The fact that he’d given up his entire life for me hit so intensely, I fought to keep from crying harder.

He gave up everything. For me.

I drew back and looked into his eyes. “I love you, and I will never be able to repay you for what you’ve done for me. What you’ve given up for me. All I can do is hope and pray that I love you enough each day that you never regret your decision.”

He frowned slightly. “I will never regret it, Bree. Never. Because the only thing I need in this life to make me happy is you. I love you more than I’ll ever be able to express. You’re the reason I breathe. The first time we made love, I knew you were the missing piece of my life. The one thing that would make me feel complete. Your love…”

His voice cracked, and he closed his eyes as he drew in a deep breath before looking at me again. He picked up my hand and placed it over his heart. “If these last few months without you have shown me anything, it’s that I cannot live this life without you in it. I will love you until I take my last breath and then some. You are my heart, Brighton.”

Tears streamed down my face, and I sat up and wrapped my arms around his neck. I buried my face against him as he wrapped his arms around me.

“I love you.” We said it in unison and laughed as we drew back and looked at each other.
