He steps back and wishes me good luck. Then he’s gone.

I wasn’t lying about packing it. I am. I have to be at my first shift in two hours, and I have no idea how it’s going to go. Working in the complete hospital environment is very different from working alone. I hope I do well.

I’m excited, though.

A new house, a new job, it’s all going well.

I glance around at my new place and smile. It’s perfect for me, and it feels good to know I own it. To know that I’ve finally got something of my own. I cherish it with everything I am because I know just how lucky I am.

Of course, Adan and I have already discussed who will give up their house when we move in together, and I’ve told him he’d have to fight me because I’m not giving up this place.

We’ll see who wins that battle.

I get ready for work and go to my first shift. It wasn’t worth the stress because it’s incredible, the people, everything about it. I smile the entire time, and the patients do nothing but rave about how kind and happy I am. By the time I leave, I’m on cloud nine and feeling incredible.

I go home and crawl into bed next to my warm, sleepy biker.

“How’d you go?” he murmurs into my ear, his warm breath making me feel tingly all over.

“So, so good,” I whisper, pressing my lips against his.

God, I love this man.

Coming home to him, putting my mouth against his, all makes me realize just how much he means to me.

“You know something?” I say, kissing him again.

“What?”

“I love you.”

He goes silent and for a second, for a slight second, I wonder if I’ve just ruined everything. I mean, he’s told me he’s in love with me...but after that, it hasn’t been said. Surely those things don’t change, right? I mean, you say it once, and that’s that.

Right?

“I didn’t just scare you off, did I?” I whisper.

He pulls me closer and kisses me. I sink into it.

“No,” he finally murmurs, “I just liked how it felt to hear it.”

“I can repeat it if you like.”

“Do it while you’re bouncing on my cock.”

I slap his arm. “Always so vulgar.”

“Chop chop, it doesn’t have all evening.”

I laugh and roll on top of him. I can feel his smile even in the darkness.

“Just like this, Papi?” I purr.

He slaps my thigh.

I laugh.

Oh yes.

Being in love is magical.

“UGH, YOU TWO MAKE ME sick,” Eve says, throwing a beer top at me over the fire.

Adan has just come up behind me, and then we fell into a rather deep kiss. Right in front of everyone, of course. We still can’t get enough of each other, and I really hope it stays that way. Being with Adan feels good, really fucking good. It’s everything I didn’t know I needed and I don’t want it to end anytime soon.

Or ever, for that matter.

“I beg yours,” I laugh at her. “We had to put up with you and Riggs for ages.”

She rolls her eyes. “Riggs doesn’t do PDA’s. Besides, I’m certain we’ve never kissed like that.”

“You forget very quickly, babe,” Riggs murmurs into her ear. “Care for me to remind you?”

“Now who’s gross!” I laugh.

We all sit down around the fire. I can’t see Poppy or Beckett, so I have to assume they’re busy making money still. I wonder how it’s all going? I know she’s going to keep him on his toes. That much is certain.

“How’s Hugh going?” I ask Riggs.

Hugh hasn’t been around for a few days. I’m guessing it’s something to do with processing the fact that he’s a dad now, and not only that, but the woman is so much higher than him on the scale of things. It freaks him out. I mean, imagine showing up at a school function with your biker dad and princess mom.

I laugh on the inside. It would be rude to let it out.

“He’s copin’,” Riggs shrugs. “Not much he can do about it but accept it.”

“Must be rough,” Remy mutters from his place beside me. “Knowin’ you’re a dad when you were certain you’d never be one.”

“I mean, are you ever certain, though?” I question.

“Hugh was.”

More than one person said that.

I guess Hugh has made it clear in the past that he isn’t daddy material.

It makes you wonder why.

“I’m sure he’ll change his mind. Little girls have a way of doing that to you. So I hear, at least.”

“Unless they’re like full monsters,” Eve adds in. “What if she becomes this little brat who looks down on him? That would suck.”

“All I know is her parents don’t know, and when they find out, shit is goin’ to hit the fan,” Riggs adds in. “So long as it stays away from my club, I couldn’t give a fuck.”
