She climbed out of her car, and he’d given her the spare key. Placing her bag in the corner, like she did every time, she closed and locked the door. Regardless of him coming, he always thought about her safety. She didn’t know if the motel was known for bad stuff, but she wasn’t about to question him. The motel was one of her favorite places to be.

Once inside, her cell phone went off.

Hawk: Running a little late. Take a shower. Relax. Study. I’ll be there, but you better be naked.

She couldn’t help but smile, and putting her cell phone on the cabinet beside the bed, she made her way toward the en-suite bathroom. The motel had nice rooms, more luxurious than her trailer, although she had cleaned up her trailer really well.

Stripping down her clothes, she turned on the shower, waiting for it to warm up. Back at the trailer, she tended to stay under the spraying water, even if it was cold, as the time between cold, warm, and hot was so minimal. She never luxuriated in the shower, it was something she should probably tell the landlord, but it was no bother. She got used to dealing with it.

Once the water was nice and warm, she stepped beneath the spray, closing her eyes, and loving the warmth seeping into her bones.

It was getting colder, and she was pretty sure she had seen a frost coating the ground that very morning. She heard a lot of clients talk about the impending snow. Nikki hadn’t seen the weather forecast, but she also hadn’t been paying careful attention to the weather.

After washing her body, she shampooed and conditioned her hair, and it felt so good getting the day’s work right off her body. She was close to orgasm, she was sure of it, it felt that good.

Once she was done, she turned off the shower, squeezed some of the water out of her hair, but not too tightly. She didn’t want to risk damaging the ends of her hair. Yes, her head was full of all the different hacks, tips, and tricks for what it takes to look after every part of her body. Wrapping a towel around herself and then another lightly around her hair, she stepped into the main part of the room. There was still no sign of Hawk.

She checked the time, and frowned. It was getting late, and she’d already been there for half an hour. She shrugged and wrapped another fluffy robe around her body and went to her bag in the corner, pulling out textbooks and notebooks. Moving toward the bed, she opened them and started to work her way through them. Every now and then, she checked the time. Half an hour turned into an hour.

She kept studying. She liked to go back over what she learned previously, make additional notes, and then continue through the textbook.

An hour and a half turned into two hours. The time kept ticking, and she hated the long wait. She was getting tired. Her stomach growled, but it was now too late for food.

After waiting nearly four hours for Hawk to arrive, she flopped back on the bed and closed her eyes. She’d just rest for a moment.

Hawk let himself into the motel room even though it was a little after five in the morning. He’d already taken a long, hot shower to get the stench of the party off him.

At first, he didn’t look toward the bed, and then he did, and guilt swept over him. Nikki was laid, curled up in only a robe, and the room was freaking cold, as it was most mornings. Her books were to the right of her. She looked so cold, and if she got sick, he was going to be pissed off.

Stepping away from the door, he moved closer to her and began to gather up the books. He placed them in her bag and then stripped out of his leather cut and clothes, sliding in beside her and putting the blanket over her body.

“You’re late,” she said, sounding sleepy.

He smiled at her and looked down at her beautiful face. Her eyes were open, and she covered her mouth to stifle a yawn.

“I can’t get anything past you, can I?” he asked.

She let out a little giggle, but it wasn’t an annoying sound. He hadn’t found anything annoying about Nikki. He didn’t know if he was annoyed at that either.

She was perfection.

“I waited for you,” she said.

“I know, I got held up at the club.”

“Is everything okay?”

“Yeah, yeah, everything is good. What about you?” he asked.

She sighed. “I studied and tried not to look at the clock.”

He reached out and cupped her cheek. He ran his thumb across her bottom lip, and she peeked her tongue out, to lick the tip.
